If you need to replace your drum heads, but can't afford the major brand names, these are an excellent alternative. They are double ply, and extremely similar to the major brand's "pinstripe" model. Aside from the rim being crimped instead of epoxied and crimped & the lack of a logo, you'd have a difficult time telling the difference. You will not be disappointed at this price point. Highly recommended for drummers on a tight budget. They do a great job for the right price (writing this review when the price was $30, but as long as they remain *significantly* cheaper than the name brand, I would still recommend them). After owning these, I am pretty sure the major brands are gouging us severely. Save your money unless drumming is earning it for you.

I'm a new drummer that acquired an old by nice Ludwig 7 piece kit for free. After some serious cleaning, I didn't want the old heads back on and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I didn't know I'd want to keep. These heads were easy to tune and they hold the tune. Well, I'm not sure I can even make a tune yet but through my pounding, they have changed the pitch I tuned them to. How's that? Haha. 3 months of banging and they still hold up. I actually put them on as batter and resonant heads. They're a lot quieter but for now, that's probably good.
