Fender Vintage Reissue '62 Telecaster Bridge Pickup

Great sound
Of all the many Telecaster guitar pickups out there, this is the one of my choice for the best quality of that unmistakable Telecaster twang. If you are into that traditional country sound, this pickup and the matching neck pickup that matches this bridge pickup, are the go to products of the century. I have tried others, but this one is the tops I have seen in my 55 years of building Telecaster style guitars.

This is it
I used to have a 1976 Tele. Ever since I parted with it I've been looking for that distinctive 1960s/70s Tele sound. This is it. It's only a resistance of 6 but plenty loud. Lots of sting without harshness. That clear, rocking Tele sound. I read on discussion boards that the Fender Vintage Reissue '62 set was the best Tele pickup set ever. I haven't heard them all, but I'm inclined to agree. Not as velvety as a 1950s Tele, Definitely more bite here. But the things you can do with that sound... This and the matching neck pickup can turn a Made in Mexico Standard Tele into a great guitar.

A great deal. I put one in my Reissue American ...
A great deal. I put one in my Reissue American '69 Thinline with nice results. Got the good mid range sound from the raised poles with clean highs and a cool twangy bottom end. This unit sounds simialr to a SD Jerry Donahue model for less cash and maybe a sweeter tone. I have the JerryDonahue model in another Tele and both are spot on with a well balanced tone thru out. The raised D & G poles help especially if your neck is a 7 1/2 radius. For a flater neck you may want o turn down your mids unless you like alot more midrange as I do. Be sure to hook this unit to 250K pots! The Thinline comes with 1 meg pots that are much too bright. for the price and quality tone, 5 stars

as advertised
I purchased this product thinking it would fit an older 1950's steel lap guitar. It did not but it was an experiment. I did find another pickup that did fit after going through three. Guitar sounds great so going by the pickup that did work the product is awesome. I will find a use one day and keep it in my arsenal of spare parts.

Like a Telecaster Bridge pickup should sound
Installed it last night. It replaced a Classic Vibe Custom Bridge pickup which sounded too thin to me. The '62 Reissue sounds like a telecaster Bridge pickup should. Good frequency range without being too full sounding or too shrill. It is a great balance/blend and with the tone knob, I can dial in whatever sound I need, I highly recommend this pickup regardless of the price. But the fact that it is one of the more affordable Fender pickups, you need to seriously consider it.

Great affordable option!
My MIJ '62 Reissue Tele had dull, one-dimensional stock pickups. I immediately replaced the neck pickup with the mate to this pickup. After a while I couldn't live with the difference between the new neck and the original bridge pickups, so I added this bridge pickup a few weeks ago. These probably aren't the absolute best pickups on the market, but the dollat-to-tone ratio might make them the best value! They're punchier and better balanced than the originals and the deliver great tone through a clean or overdriven amp.I'm sure that Jason Lollar's pickups (or your favorite boutique winder) are another level beyond these, but for this price I'm 100% satisfied.

but I really like the 62 RI fender bridge
I've tried a lot of pickups. nocaster, texas special, 52 RI, rio tall boy, fralin blues.... but I really like the 62 RI fender bridge. It has the perfect mid range for me, its not harsh or too dark. Its just perfect. Its transparent sounding, but the mids give it the growl to do rock, lots of twang too. I'm using a USA custom guitar swamp ash body and a fat USA custom guitar V neck. I think the big neck gives more low end and bigger tone, that helps with underwound pickups. My other favorite is the nocaster for different results. Its nice to both of these guys around. The other pickup on tap is a lollar T52, didn't try it yet. I would also like to try the don mare danocaster. But I don't want to touch the 62 bridge for now. Is staying where it is. Really enjoying this pickup!
