Brilliant Smart Lighting – Versatile, Bright & Easy to Use!
I recently purchased the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus V4, and it has completely transformed my space! Whether for mood lighting, accenting furniture, or smart home automation, this lightstrip delivers on all fronts. What I Loved:Vibrant & Customizable Colors – The brightness is impressive, and the range of colors is endless! Whether I want a warm white for relaxation or dynamic colors for a party, this strip does it all.Smart Home Integration – Works seamlessly with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. Controlling it via voice commands is effortless.Easy Setup & Expandable – The Bluetooth setup is quick, and it connects easily to my Hue Bridge for additional features. Plus, it’s extendable for larger setups.Syncs with Music & Movies – When paired with the Hue Sync app, it enhances movies and music, making for an immersive experience.Minor Considerations:Requires a Hue Bridge for full features – While Bluetooth works for basic functions, you’ll need the Hue Bridge to unlock advanced automation and remote control.Adhesive could be stronger – Sticks well on smooth surfaces, but I’d recommend extra adhesive or mounting clips for long-term placement. If you’re looking for high-quality, smart LED lighting, this is one of the best options available. It’s bright, responsive, and integrates seamlessly into any smart home system. Highly recommend! The lights are durable and good value for money.

Coil Whine + limited application
These are easy to use and cut, and generally work well for the price. There are a series of adhesive strips on the back that can be tricky to peel, but otherwise they are easy to fit. However, the power adapter has horrible coil whine. It’s not exclusive to this product, it’s quite common in the hue lineup. But if you are trying to track down a high pitched whine, try turning your hue light down. The strip gets plenty bright, but as it’s not diffused in anyway you can only really include it it out-of-sight areas to reflect or bounce light off a wall. This works great at the top of a wardrobe or cupboard, but less so on the back of a desk, where you’ll see lots of spot lighting on the wall.I’ve had one running for 5+ years in my kitchen with no issues on durability and the app offers plenty of colour customisations. Connection is a breeze, but you’ll need a hue hub.

Have a plan to support them
The lights are excellent, the sticky back for attaching them isn't, at best it's useless, at worst it's absolutely useless. So with that in mind have a plan to fix them in position. I bought 2 sets and both exactly the same, the sticky back is the same strength as sellotape. I placed mine behind a pelmet and its great. They offer some aluminium trunking to support them but I sent mine back.

Works out of the box with Smartthings
Powered up. Smartthings found this as "Zigbee light".No need for Philips hue bridge. It probably isn't as customizable as having a hue bridge but ijust want to use the led strip as bias lights with a white colour at 6500k.Enough for my 55" Oled. Looks effective and definitely seems to enhance the Tv picture.Could certainly have bought cheaper string lights but struggled to find zigbee and most were wifi only requiring additional apps. I expect the quality of these to be superior and the leds not overdriven leading to premature failure.Happy with these.

Philips Hue Bridge v2 and Colour Striplight v4
Have purchased my first Hue light a 2m colour striplight (v4) snd a Hue bridge (v2). This was for my 10 yr old daughter's bedroom and she is very happy and excited.Pros and technicalities:Ovetall Very easy, simple and convenient setup. Easy to integrate with Alexa.Great product from Philips Hue. 5 starsYou Must have downloaded P Hue app (Android, iOS) before installation.1. Plug Hue bridge into power source2. Attach bridge with rj45 cable to your network or router.3. Open app on phone. It automatically detects Bridge, then updates it.4. Beware it takes quite some time to update! (approximately 15 min)5. Attach striplight to power6. Search for Hue lights in app.7. App detects striplight (very easy, first time, no lag, smooth)8. Once integrated, it can be named whatever you like. Jojo, rattle, bindi, we settled for Griffin!App now updates Striplight (expect another 15 min to complete it).9. App integrates with Amazon Echo Alexa seamlessly and works smooth with voice commands.10. You can name the Room and lights in that room, so I guess you can add as many rooms (as you can spend) and lights in each room. (Total 50 with each Bridge as per manual).11. You can set scenes and ask alexa eg: 'turn savana sunset in room 1', Perfect12. You can set routines, timings when light tocome and go with sunset and sunrise etc etcCons and ideas for improvements:1. Slightly less user friendly for complex settings ie setting routines and grouping lights in each room and then the whole house. It could be improved by adding icons instead of too much prose, (like somfy TaHoma app)2. Voice commands for Echo: It wouldn't work if you say 'Set Savanna sunset Scene in Room1', instead you have to be Specific and say 'Turn Savanna sunset in room 1'.3. Setting routines could be simplified: one example is you want lights control to be activated at night time commwncing with sunset and switch off with sunrise. This could be more user friendly in the Hue app as current a bit complex set up.Finally the price of the Hue lights is ridiculously HIGH, you pay a premium, (though no doubt Hue lights are amazing!).Probably it is due to lack of competition but in modern era soon expect other competitors with at par quality of lights and app to get into the ring... can Amazon start making its own colorful lights?!

Please read
The adhesive tape is not very good. It’s comes off from time to time. Wouldn’t recommend applying the light strip to the tv.
