We have been using a lidded copper bucket to collect our kitchen compostables on our counter, for years. The lid was awkward to remove, especially after it warped a bit. This Compost Bin for Kitchen Countertop is absolutely perfect! It has a bit smaller footprint and is a bit lower than our previous bucket which makes the countertop seem more streamlined & bigger. The push button opener is ingenious and makes the daily use of this product easy & enjoyable. We haven’t emptied it, yet, but with a bag & the easily removable plastic liner I know this will be so much easier than our previous system. We are HAPPY!

Nice looking and good quality compost container on the kitchen counter. Instead of going to backyard compost bin daily, now I only go every 3 or 4 days when this container is full. The inner plastic container is easy to wash clean.

Nice looking bin, perfect size for a kitchen counter, easy to clean. Cover snaps open when the release button is depressed (most of the time). My only complaint is that it doesn't have a lift handle to remove the bin from the holder, just a finger hole. Who wants to reach into yukky old food to find the hole?

I’m very pleased with this bin; it’s well-made, functional, and convenient for kitchen composting.

The item is a good size for the countertop and looks like the image. It also keeps odors in and stays fairly clean when used with a compost bag. However, the lid often sticks when you push the button. This makes it difficult to open, especially so when your hands are full of scraps you want to put inside. So, I gave three stars for quality.

The right size for one person. The compost bag can be folded over the removable bin, so the unit does not get dirty.

Initially, the cover to this compost bucket popped open nicely when the open button is pressed. However, while cleaning it and handling it by the open cover, the plastic hinges easily broke and the opening springs popped out and could not be re-installed due to the area cracking. Now I have to manually open the cover which is a pain because usually when you are trying to fill it your hands are full of "compost" material. Eventually the plastic hinges completely broke and now I now have the cover held on with black electrical tape acting as the hinges. Not cool, for a $30 product to last only 3 months. I loved this when it was working, but very low quality in the hinges.
