Beautiful machine
This is my first foray into a computerized sewing machine. Previously I was using a mechanical Kenmore sewing machine that was very basic. First off, the seller I got my machine from - Ken’s Sewing and Vacuum Center - was great. Good price, fast delivery, everything came as it should, and this was my second time ordering from them and I would highly recommend even for refurbed stuff.Features: Important features for me were the stitches, display, speed control, foot pedal OR start/stop options, plus the quick knot option! I often sew standing and usually the cables to the foot pedal are barely long enough to reach the ground, making it precarious (and I’m not even that tall so it isn’t like I have the desk raised super high). With that in mind I really really wanted the option to start/stop and adjust speed all by hand as opposed to relying on the foot pedal. Plus I seem to have a combo feather foot/lead foot when sewing and either go too fast or too slow. This machine has removed that variable for me, but I have the option to use the foot pedal if I want! I find that I now have better control when sewing, and while it is still taking some getting used to using my hands to start/stop and adjust speed, etc while going, it is not that big of an adjustment.I also really wanted a machine that came with the table extension because I find fighting the weight of fabric when sewing something larger to be very frustrating and this table has helped since I don’t have the setup to inset my sewing machine into my work surface.I also appreciate that I got this machine with a cool quilters kit that had some extra feet by Janome including a walking foot! I haven’t used it yet, but I have been contemplating getting one for over a year now.I also like the dust cover. It is not fool-proof as it has an opening for the handle, but on the whole it does a decent job, and definitely protects the machine from any accidental (minor) knocks when moving it around. It is definitely a smoother sewing experience than what I was originally working with, and I love some of the embellishment stitches it is programmed with.Plus it tells you the recommended foot for different stitches! As a relative n00b to sewing this is appreciated.I like the quality, function, and price. Great starter computerized sewing machine.

A Wonderful Machine--Especially for a Beginner, Like Me
Until I purchased this machine, I had never used a sewing machine in my life. After a lot of research, I knew I needed an easy-to-use, well-made machine so I wouldn't have to fight with finicky tension and quirky hardware issues. I also wanted one powerful enough to sew through tougher materials because I want to be able to make my own outdoor gear (e.g. backpack and tent). As a woodworker, I really appreciate a well-designed tool, and I am really, really, impressed with this machine. It's amazingly easy to thread, and it sews beautifully. Even with my ignorance of many sewing techniques, my first two projects turned out better than I thought they might. I made a facemask with a filter insert pocket and a cuben fiber hip pack to keep my phone dry on the trail. The machine's tension didn't need adjusting at all from the poly-cotton mask to the extremely tough cuben fiber and nylon webbing on the pack. It sewed though all those materials with absolutely no problems and with perfectly clean stitches. I'll likely never use most of the 200 stitches on this machine, but I have really enjoyed the speed adjustment slider and the auto-up needle position. Also, even though I mentioned this earlier, I cannot stress enough how awesome the threader is. I can thread the machine in just a few seconds. Initially, as a beginner, I wondered if I bought too much machine. After a week and a half of sewing, I know that I made the right decision.

TS200Q Janome sewing machine is a discontinued model
So far, this janome TS200Q machine is working fine. only concern is, that although the description indicates it is NOT DISCONTINUED, when I registered it with Janome.com, I was informed that it IS IN FACT A DISCONTINUED SEWING MACHINE. As long as the warranty is not affected by this, I guess it's OK. just misleading in the product description on amazon.

I love this sewing machine.
I'm using my sewing machine a lot. I've had it for about 4 ir 5 months. Now that the lubricating oil it has applied in its gears is well distributed, it hums smoothly right along. I used my economic stimulus check to buy this machine and some sewing supplies and fabrics. Now I'm making masks. I also made an apron, and have plans to make some dresses. The machine is really simple to use and can make many more kinds of stitches than my old Singer from the 80's. I love this machine.

Unavailable?
This machine replaced a Janome I had for about 15 years. I ran enough thread through it that a groove was carved into the bobbin plate.I wish this machine sewed faster (I believe this clocks out at about 1000 stitches per minute) but that is my only negative comment. Love the continuous backward stitch (do not have to stop the machine to go back), the needle up and down. I've reset my machine to always end with the needle down. Not the factory set, but easy to do. I sewed one quilt with appliques, works great.

good machine for advanced beginner or intermediate seamster
I bought this machine to replace a 10 year old Singer which had some decorative stitches and a front loading bobbin. I have been sewing for over 50 years and swore by my Singer sewing machines, but had issues with bobbin thread's tangling and consistent tension. I sew a lot of clothing, different kinds of bags, and do a little quilting. The Janome is so much better than than my old machine - it is heavier, has a top loading bobbin and a lot more decorative stitches (that I am slowly learning how to use). I also am learning to use a walking foot for the first time - how I ever got along without one I will never know! So far, I am very happy with the machine - I have been quilting some placemats as my first projects on it.

Excellent machine. Easy to use.
This machine is completely amazing. The stitches you can use, the ease at which you can use them and the quality of the work is excellent. Worth every penny! Read the manual.
