I bought this paletilla or shoulder ham as a gift to my wife because she was feeling a little homesick and she really loved it. The curing is spectacular, not raw nor too cured, offering a delicious slice of Jamon Serrano that melts a little in your mouth and let you palate all its flavour. The fat or tocino is responsible for this juiciness, and as it's well-known paletillas are often fatter than regular Jamon. However, this paletilla has just the right amount of fat, offering an incredible veining or veteado that adds the icing to the cake.The package arrived in a timely fashion, well cared for and the product vacuum-packaged. The paletilla comes pre-carved or skinless to help the slicing, and with a traditional stand and slicing knife or cuchillo jamonero of excellent quality, ultra sharp and light.Our stand arrived defective and we couldn't screw it in all the way, but the shop offered a free replacement that arrived in just a couple of days. We are extremely happy with our purchase and with the timely response of the seller, that managed to solve all our problems fast and easy. We'd definitely recommend it to Jamon lovers in the US and would buy again; it seems sooner than we anticipated because we just can't stop eating it.

I have eaten this type of ham while in Spain, but the two hams delivered for the holidays, did not measure up. The hams were not tender or juicy as advertised. It required a sawzall serrated blade to cut through the interior flesh, the provided ham knife was of no use. The meat is dryer than old beef jerky, tough, chewy, inedible. I understand non returns for groceries, but I do not appreciate being shipped inedible food items, the inconvenience of asking for a refund several times over the course of a month, or having the seller hide behind a no returns policy because it's food. A Refund for each ham was finally issued after persistent efforts and considerable time spent with Amazon customer service every ten days. We will be sure to enjoy the real thing when we go to Spain and Portugal in the spring.

The meat wasn’t good for long and it was already rotting when my dad received the gift . He had to eat it In 3 days . That’s a lot of meat to eat in a 3 days kind of disappointing it went bad so fast . Wasn’t the best fathers day gift !

My husband bought this Serrano ham as a gift for a CPA friend who does our taxes every year. Unfortunately it was not the flavor he remembered from years back when he tasted one nor was it liked by CPA friend and office workers. I believe it is an acquired taste so that is why the poor ratings.

Very nice. Was delivered as promised. My Son was delighted with the entire package. It came with the stand, knife and cover. Very satisfied with this product.
