Definitive Technology SC8000 Ultra Compact Subwoofer

Why didn't i purchase this earlier now location is a must to get maximum output, i still have a old sub which is jbl s120pii which is 12" 400 watts rms ported sub it still works but wanted more so again as i said i should have purchased this earlier now i have a sealed and a ported subs which sounds really good and if someone is thinking if i just put the sc8000 on and i did and it's sounds great and if i put the other one on it's sounds even better. Couldn't be happier. Lastly the phase must be set to different degree if their are 2 subs in the room cause if they are set to the same the bass will cancel each other and that also applies if the other speaker set to large and is outputting bass than the sub phase from receiver should be changed to reverse tried it with differnt setting but this thing pumps out very clean bass in music and when it's movie time this thing transform to something else you hear every explosion a jet flying, a shootout you hear every single detail I would definitely buy this again.

I love Definitive Technology, but this sub rattles at low frequencies right out of the box.

You need bass this will literally shake the floor, air, chest, heart, brain into the biggest smile a movie guy can strap on. My favorite thing about this is it can produce so much sound so smooth that low frequencies can be felt. Example: A spaceship in a SiFi movie engine room pulses you feel the pulse not just hear it. These make movies come alive in a manner I had not experienced. I have two of these and will be buying two more with the wireless adapter when I get the movie room. They are self powered so no need to do anything but plug them in.

Badd packaging Not all the pieces were there

I had the smaller version of this subwoofer that I was impressed with although I am not overly impressed with the sound quality at medium or above volumes of this much larger one. It tends to distort much sooner than I expected. It sounds like the voice coil in the driver is bottoming out causing a rattling noise. Something I would expect from a very cheap subwoofer. If I had to do it again I would go back to Klipsh. My old Klipsh was 2 times the money but the sound was night and day difference. I could shake the ground outside my house with absolutely no distortion what so ever on my Klipsh. I would not recommend this subwoofer. Nice looking subwoofer and I like the remote but I bought it for sound and not the whistles and bells. I would go with Klipsh or if you have a ton of money Paradigm.

I purchased the SC8000 when my 7 year old infinity 12” sub’s amp started to go out. My expectations were a little high after reading many other reviews, but I don’t audibly notice much better bass from this unit. It probably doesn’t help that I have it installed in an open concept living room and the total space’s volume is pretty large (living room, dining room, kitchen, nook, etc.)One con is that the auto-on function is pretty sensitive and the sub often turns on when the receiver is off. The cabling runs around the room between the receiver and the sub and may be seeing some induced current from the house’s wiring.I do find that the remote is handy, allowing me to dial down the base when the kids are asleep and I’m watching movies.

I did a ton of homework before my purchase and this sub really rocks the house. The incredible frequency response range delivers amazing lows in both music and movies. I had nice floor standing speakers and when I added this sub, the speakers sounded 10 times better. It's alsoi absolutely amazing when watching an LFE movie like The Dark Knight. The remote is convenient and allows you to adjust the settings so you don't over power the room (but sometimes, you can't have too much bass!).I would highly recommend this sub.

Arrived in perfect shape. I would suggest, however, the manufacturer use sturdier packing. The subwoofer works perfectly.

Very nice addition for bottom end while listening to music. Watch a movie and it turns into an animal. The bass is totally felt in the seat of the pants and in the chest. Sub did not disappoint I knew it would take some time to loosen up and really show it's colors which it did. Super value for the money handy remote eq's pretty much a waste of time but are interesting none the less. Good bass should be felt more than heard sub lived up to it beautifully.

I have used over 10 different subwoofers, some are more expensive, this one ranks among the very best. I really like the remote control, making adjustments that much easier. The bass is fast and clean with excellent texture. I achieved very good results within minutes after hookup.

This subwoofer is awesome, big punch in a little footprint.
