Fairytales Mousse is not a pesticide, it is an enzyme. It will not kill lice, but it does make the removal of them easier by dissolving the glue that fastens nits to the hair shaft, making it easier to comb them out of the hair! It also seems to stun the adult lice, making them slower moving and easier to find and comb out of hair. Since this is not a poison, you can reapply immediately after first treatment, if necessary. Combing is the most important aspect of any lice treatment. Section hair and comb each section upwards, downwards, and sideways from both sides. Do that every 2-3 days even if you use the pesticidal shampoos! Invest in the metal lice comb, it is far superior to the plastic ones. I live in a state that has the strain of super lice that is resistant to the conventional pesticide shampoo treatments and I have two granddaughters who have been infected with lice several times in the last two years!! I'd much rather use this and work a littler harder than dousing their little heads in poison!

Ordered this after a few trips to specialty lice company. I put it in my daughter’s hair every morning before school and it’s worked great( knock on wood). It smells great and doesn’t make her hair sticky or feel as if I sprayed anything in her hair. Worth the money!!!

I have an Amish friend I buy eggs from who asked me in desperation if I knew of anything that would kill lice. She'd been dealing with it for a year with her little ones. She has several! I told her Tea Tree oil and that's when she declared she'd tried everything. So, I asked a friend who uses only natural remedies and she told me Fairy Tales is the only thing that works. Totally taking her word for it, I order this treatment AND the Terminator comb and gave it to my Amish friend (who gladly paid me). A week later she said she thought it was working, but wasn't sure because there were still some lice, though they were less and less. About three weeks after giving it to her I came to her house and she greeted me with the biggest smile and a huge thank you. No more lice and she still combs her kids' hair with the Terminator just to be sure. She said the product loosens the lice/eggs BUT it was the comb that got them out like nothing else. She was impressed by how long the product lasted as she used it on two or three little ones and still hasn't run out! She's asking me to order several more for all her friends in the Amish community, saying it is rampant in their schools. She says it was a God-send that she asked me, as we don't talk about much other than how many eggs I want to buy! :)

1/2 the price of my local pharmacy, a little Expensive but it works!!! and I'm not worried about using it on my little one. Used the cheap stuff on myself as a precaution when daycare brought "guests" into the home and it reminded me why I purchased this for her. Pesticide laden crap feels like acid in your hair, you don't want to use that on a child whose hating the process as much as you are, goodness know what hell that it would be to get it in their eyes. Trust me there is nothing LESS fun than using a lice comb on a 6 year old. Its a foam so it stays in place, its easy to use the comb with (The pesticide crap has to sell you a gel to facilitate combing and is a very very thin liquid that likes to drip) and I could use it 2/3 times in a row. 1 bottle was good for ~3 uses on a 6 year old with hair to her waist. I ended up buying 2 to treat 3 people. 2 as a precaution with short hair 1x and the 6 year old with really long hair (the incubee) we treated 2X; waited a week and treated 2xmore. It comes with a reasonably sized plastic comb. I recommend getting a disposable shower cap. 1/2 the price of my local pharmacy

This stuff works really well. We have been battling the lice issue all summer. You must use this product with the nit comb otherwise you are wasting your time and money. I have learned through trial and error that this product does not kill the lice but it does knock them out so you want to start combing through the hair about five minutes after application and reapply every twenty minutes. Also, retreat in seven days regardless of what you see or don't see.

I cannot say enough good things about this product! My kindergartener's class recently had an outbreak of lice and she was sent home after a few nits were found. I drove over to our local children's salon and purchased this Lice Good Bye Kit. I was worried about using an "Alternative Treatment" but wanted to save my daughter's scalp from harsh chemicals at all costs. The box recommends doing the treatment 2-3 times for an infestation, so any of the reviews that say they tried this once and it didn't work simply wasn't following the instructions. The first night I put my daughter in the bathtub, and I did the entire shampoo/comb-out 3 times while she played. The next day, I did the treatment again just for good measure. We've been in the clear since! I also treated myself just in case. This gentle treatment is also recommended for weekly prevention, so I have stocked up on Amazon, which carries this product at about 50% of the cost I paid at the local salon. Highly, highly, highly recommend.
