Good low cost DVM
I have many years under my belt as an electronics engineer diagnosing component level faults on pcb's and I am used to much more expensive DVM's (digital voltmeters) so I feel qualified to review this one.First off the price is really cheap so I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised that is wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be.It's quite light in the hand but feels well made, mostly hard plastic with a hard rubberised outer case which should negate some drops and bangs. The bale stand on the back is flimsy and will probly break if flexed the wrong way too much so just be gentle with it and it should be okay. The screw which holds the battery cover / stand on goes in to a brass insert and not just screwed in to plastic so thats nice. The screen is easy to read at different angles and has nice large numbers on and while isn't the quickest at updating its okay considering the price. The test leads are fine and work okay for general useI cant comment on battery life as I have not had it long, this review is first impressions.I have attached some pictures where I tested the accuracy of this DVM, the DMM Check Plus was Calibrated recently and I checked it with one of my Flukes just before testing the AstroAI DT132A and the Fluke read spot on for each of the tests. The tests performed were AC & DV volts , AC & DC mA and Resistance, you can see the results for yourself.

Good value
Good value meter, well made and all ready to use, even comes fitted with a nice cover. Bought this purely for DIY purposes, as my very old meter gave up the ghost and had limited capabilities. As other reviews mention to remove the protection covers of the tips so you have extended probes needs a hard pull, but hey you don’t want them sliding off each time you use. Haven't actually used this meterfor anything yet complex just used to test an electrical toy to determine what new part was needed. Friends who have seen it and use these sort of tools have said it’s a nice piece of kit for the money.

Good functionality at a competitive price
Basic and solid multimeter at a good price. Very good for someone who is venturing into electronics for the first time.

For occasional use it is perfect.
My eyesight is not as good as it used to be and I was getting frustrated trying to accurately read my old fashioned analogue needle type meter so it was time to get one with a big digital display. My needs were fairly basic…..checking the status of various rechargeable batteries I have for various things and also being able to do some basic continuity testing when fault finding (I just want a nice loud beep if all is good). This unit perfectly meets my needs. It feels perfectly good quality in my hand, and the display and controls are easy to use. When checking battery voltage, it’s first setting is autorange and the screen looks like it’s showing lots of spurious data before touching the probes, but just a few quick prods of the range button will shift the decimal point to something more useful and stable. It only takes 2 seconds to do this and I thought it was worth sharing as a tip.The thermocouple on my first unit was damaged but a quick email to AstroAI got a replacement sent to me. For this price point I was truly impressed how good their customer service was.I’ve used fancier brand meters (Fluke) and sure, this does not feel like it would be quite as tough as them if used hard day in day out, but the quality is certainly good enough for home use. Great value.

Easy to use, works well.
I bought this to replace my previous Maplin autoranging meter after that died when the batteries leaked. The autoranging makes using this easy, and i particularly like that DC Volts and AC Volts are selected by different positions on the dial - so i don't need an additional 'function' button press to select the right one - which is an issue on many other multimeters. The continuity function works well - quick to react and easy to hear. I also like that this model includes a temperature probe - a useful feature for checking fridges, freezers, and ovens. The display is big and clear, but as previous reviewers have pointed out - the illumination only stays on for a few seconds which might be an issue if you need to use it in dimly lit areas for a prolonged period (my last meter was just the same in this respect). On the other hand, if it stayed on much longer i guess the batteries wouldn't last long. The unit itself is a conveniently compact size compared to other meters, but with a good sized display, making it pleasant to handle. Subjectively, i think this meter takes slightly longer to display a reading than my last one, but it also seems to settle and give a stable reading better. Another advantage compared to other meters is that it can measure up to 500ma on the fused input before having to move the lead to the 10A input. Many other meters can only handle 200ma. The leads seem OK - not too delicate. But i'll keep my old ones as spares just in case. Pleased with the purchase so far - it cost half what the last meter did - and i purchased that 16 years ago!

Cheap and cheerful
This is good cheap meter and does all it should my only complaint is the continuity beep could be louder but i am a wee bit deaf so it could be contributing to it. Built to a budget as you would/should expect but value for money used it a few times to repair stuff round the house and it performs fine buy with confidence
