I am a boy and I enjoy this series with my friends.. even though its a chick flick so to speak..it's very well done.. any child loves a good story. and this is good natured fun for everyone..I give it a million stars..can't wait till weirdsister college comes out,witch is the sequel to worst witch. where milly and her friends go to witch college..

This is a gift, not yet given but am expecting it will be well received. Arrived quickly and reasonably priced.

I grew up watching scattered eps of this on the Canadian network we picked up on cable. I made some home recordings but wish I could figure out more about what goes to what season and how many seasons there are. These prices are to high to be buying seven eps here and there. I want a box set that's for a region 1 code, as I'm in the US. Best series ever!!! Love the movie too!

An excellent series about Mildred a young witch starting at Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches (a boarding witch's secondary school). It's based on the few 'Worst Witch' books by Jill Murphy (a child's easy good read as well).This DVD set 'Up in the air' has the last seven episodes taken from the second series (year 8), and so is very good value. It's not avialable in the UK. Note that in the US this UK/Canadian series was badly dubbed in `American' but fortunately there is a `UK English' option in the DVD setup menu so you can hear the stars real voices if you wish. The rest of series one (episodes 1-6) is on the 'Old Hats & New Brooms' two DVD NTSC set', also available from Amazon. Sadly Worst Witch series three wasn't shown in the US, and isn't available anywhere at the moment.These DVD's are still my 11 year old daughters favourite viewing and would suite 7 upwards. They aren't as scary as Harry Potter and all the cast are really excellent in their roles - Miss Hardbroom [Kate Duchene] even turned down a role in the Harry Potter film to remain true to her TV character.Typical quotes: "Magic must not be used for selfish or trivial ends!" - Miss Cackle, "Confidence and control, Mildred - that's the secret of success." - Miss Hardbroom. So highly recommended for non-boy offspring - this series is easily a notch above the average TV sitcom or teen movie.
