I bought this for my barber as a gift, after the existing battery operated chime went wonky. Easy to attach to the door jam, and works perfectly every time. The chime is pleasant, and clear enough to be heard in the storeroom, but not overpowering in the salon.

Three times is a charm, I guess. I needed an entrance alarm so we know when someone enters the office when we are out of sight of the door. We really don't need anything loud, it's a CPA firm not a machine shop.First we tried a conventional wired door buzzer - the kind that runs off 110v current with transformer for running the buzzer. It was way too loud and burnt out after 1 day. The electrician said the voltage was off and he could not find the transformer that was already installed.Next we tried a wireless alarm. The kind where the sending unit has magnet and a battery combination for detecting the door opening and a remote plug in unit that sounds the alarm. The door unit was stick on and kept falling off. Finally it just stopped working after a few days.Finally we bought this unit. It works just great! No batteries to die, no transformers, no burned out bells, just a simple mechanical system that is well made and works.

We expanded our offices which meant our assistant was an uncomfortable distance from the front door and her desk (which contained her purse and our bank bag) when she was "assisting" in one of the new offices. It happened on more than one occasion that a "visitor" was found standing by her desk when she returned unbeknownst to any of us for god only knows how long. These uncomfortable occasions are a thing of the past thanks to this baby. Works great. Easy to install. Louder than you might think, but not unpleasant at all.

It is installed and working perfectly. Nice tone and loud enough to hear across the warehouse.

I’ve had one of these on the door to my restaurant for 32 years and it finally gave out. Yes, 32 years. I think I got my moneys worth from the first one! Only thing I can say about this new one is that it is just not as loud as the first one. We’ve tried adjusting it but no difference. We are still able to hear it but just not all the way in the back of the restaurant like the original one we had. Overall still a great purchase and when our first one died I specifically sought out the same brand as the first. Incredible quality and very well made. Compared to the original it is still the same tough thicker plastic case. Company obviously has not changed their standards in quality. Good purchase .

I looked at what felt like hundreds of doorbells before deciding on this one. This is an awesome product with a pleasant tone (bell sound), it was relatively easy to install and it does NOT require batteries to work! Compared to the loud electronic door buzzer that we had before which seemed to always need a change of four tiny cell batteries, this is wonderful. The product is much larger than I expected, and it was a bit pricy (product + shipping and handling) but definately well worth the cost.If you want a pleasant sounding 'ding' that can be heard at approximately 20 to 25 yards away from the source (the size of the office), this is the doorbell for you!

This is a great unit. We have been in this office for 25 years and have gone through at least 6 electronic door alerts/bells. They are hard to install, batteries have to be replaced often and they break or wear out. This little unit was easy to install, the bell is plenty loud and it doesn't have any parts that will wear out. I definitely recommend.

Product works great!! Figuring out how to install it is a whole different ball game. The instructions are no help whatsoever. Plus, if you have a door that doesn't have a specific size header, you have to figure out a different way to install. Just take your time and keep moving it around until you get it in the correct position for the type of door you have. It is definitely loud enough for a smaller building. Not sure if it would be loud enough for a larger space. I gave it 3 stars because of the instructions that come with it. They are worthless.
