A Lifesaver for Supporting an Older Cat When Eating Is Hard
I’ve been using Oxbow Critical Care Carnivore to syringe feed my 13-year-old cat during a period when she wasn’t eating well on her own, and I’m very thankful to have this product. The powder mixes easily with warm water to create a smooth consistency that works well for syringe feeding. I like that it’s calorie-dense, because she doesn’t need a large volume to get meaningful nutrition, which is important when energy and appetite are low. The ingredient profile gives me peace of mind as it’s made with animal-based proteins like whole egg and chicken, which feel appropriate for a carnivore. While my cat wasn’t drawn to the taste on her own, she tolerated it well when fed slowly, and it helped me feel confident that she was getting nourishment during a difficult time. This is definitely something I recommend keeping on hand, especially for senior cats or situations where assisted feeding becomes necessary. It’s clearly designed for recovery support and feels like a thoughtfully made product. Pros: • Mixes smoothly for syringe feeding • Calorie-dense so smaller amounts go further • Animal-based protein formula • Helpful to have on hand for emergencies or recovery I think this has been a helpful tool in caring for my older cat, and I’m glad I had it available when we needed extra nutritional support.

A Lifesaver for Our Ferret with Insulinoma
When our ferret was recently diagnosed with insulinoma, we were overwhelmed and worried about keeping her nutrition balanced and energy up. Critical Care Carnivore has been an absolute game changer. It mixes easily into a smooth, palatable formula that she actually enjoys, which is no small feat when dealing with a picky or sick ferret. The high-quality, highly digestible protein from egg and chicken has kept her strength up, and we’ve noticed a big improvement in her alertness and overall comfort. It’s gentle on her stomach, easy to syringe feed when needed, and provides the complete nutrition she can’t always get from regular meals anymore. This product has given us peace of mind knowing she’s getting the best possible support during such a challenging time. If you have a ferret with health issues, especially insulinoma, I can’t recommend Critical Care Carnivore enough. It’s truly been a lifesaver for our little one.

Was recommended by our exotic vet for rescue reptile that was not eating.
This stuff worked. I had a rescue reptile that had gone off food I was nursing back to health. Also, used on a gravid female leopard gecko who went off food for over 4wks to make sure she had nutrients (she was making eggs which takes a lot of energy and reserves of calcium - poor things go through this even if never bred or even seen a male) i mixed this stuff runny enough to put in a very small syringe (NO needle) so i could drip the mixture on their lips and tip of nose (stay away from nostril holes) and they lick it off. These reptiles and a pac-man frog did very well and came around. The stuff was recommended by our exotic vet. It seems expensive but keep mind you get a good amount your going to mix in water so it goes a long way how I was using it and I store mine in the refrigerator so it will last longer. It is easy to mix and the animals seem to like the flavor. The bag zip locks shut so cut just the top open (don’t tear it like I did all crooked, and I use a scoop and keep that in the bag, heck it might have came with the scoop. Sorry can’t remember I have so many different things like this for my 21 rescues I can’t recall. I will warn you this stuff smells awful, reminded me of a chew my puppy had once, after they chewed on it and got it wet, was awful (hoof - gross, I know). Both reptiles and pac-man frog responded well and regained their appetite.

Worth every penny
One of my ferrets lost her hair a lot. I started to feed raw egg yolk mixed with ground turkey and this Oxbow Carnivore. It works like crazy after a month. My ferrets are healthier than ever!

Rescue beardie finds it particularly tasty, boosts energy in sickly dragon.
I purchased this for a rescue bearded dragon I'm currently rehabbing -- he's my first dragon, so I'm using this on a recommendation from a reptile expert. I've only been using it for two days, so I'm not certain of any health/energy/growth benefits, but the lizard certainly enjoys eating it, and where I usually have to trick him into eating anything but the other paste I tried, he comes out of his tank at feedings already smacking his lips. It has definitely helped me to put a little weight on him...but I can't say whether it's growth or because he's actually eating something. My only concern is that the packaging says to discard after a week in the fridge, but I won't use it that fast so I've been storing it in the freezer, and letting each measurement of the powder come to room temperature before mixing. I will definitely update as my usage progresses. UPDATE: 1 week after purchase I have been feeding my beardie this food for about one week now. I prep 2 or more cc in a syringe, and I go through the whole thing throughout the day...I supplement with Flukers repta-boost as it has more water when mixed. HOWEVER, this food has definitely perked my bearded dragon up. Before he was mopey and unwell, rarely ate a lot, and didn't move around the cage. With the new food, he has not stopped running around his enclosure all morning, and when I took him out to feed him he ate much more than he normally does in the morning, and then proceeded to run about my bed, and jump from my hands, and and climb all over. I would absolutely say that this food has been great for helping this little guy get well.

My ferret LOVES this!
My senior ferret LOVES this stuff. Nothing else compares. She’ll eat the Marshall Duk Soup a little bit, but with this, she knows what time I give this to her, and she literally waits by her feeding station. Its helped her put on weight and she’s thriving so much better. Thank you for helping save my baby ❤️

I have a 7 months bearded dragon that s too young for brumation and she started brunate anyway.. so i use this to feed her every morning and then she gies back to sleep. She s not big enough to brunate, so using this helps her gain weight during brumation.
