Despite what many will tell you, this is in fact the most secure wallet for regular, real world use. Why? Many don’t understand that real world security matters above all else.Example: your company decides to require everyone to have 24 character passwords with letters, numbers, characters, etc. In theory this is a stronger password, because it’s harder to guess but in practice people will forget it, be inconvenienced, etc. and therefore write it on a post-it or word doc. People might recycle passwords or be willing to share them. They may get locked out of their devices, waste valuable time dealing with password recovery, and all kinds of other issues. End result is actually less secure and a net negative.In this example, compare to a password manager that stores “strong” passwords and only requires a simple(r) password/pin and 2FA from a mobile app. End password is more difficult to obtain or brute force because it can be even longer and more complicated. Compliance is higher because it actually improves convenience. Overriding the 2FA aspect entails breaking past Face ID/fingerprint or otherwise exploiting access to the smartphone, cracking 2FA, etc. Still more layers of what is still fairly strong security to overcome.“But it has a fingerprint reader. Biometrics = bad”. Fingerprint reader is a massive plus. Pins can be guessed or a nefarious actor can just shoulder surf or record you entering the pin. Pins can be forgotten, and entering one on a small device is slow and cumbersome. May lead to setting an insecure pin, not bothering to transact with cold wallet for regular use, etc. Besides, you don’t have to use one if you don’t want to. Although all biometric data is stored in the wallet, never transmitted. Can still use pin in lieu or as a backup.“Bluetooth bad”. Unless you’re being targeted by someone who can break high encryption Bluetooth in the intermittent periods where your wallet is on, probably not a worry. In which case you’re being targeted; someone that determined to get into your wallet would resort to violence or coercion regardless of security measures…in which case you’d have far bigger problems.Beyond convenience, high encryption Bluetooth to iOS over a cellular connection has fewer weak points than a USB connection (in theory every piece of hardware in the computer can be exploited by someone determined enough).iOS is more secure than windows or MacOS, and browsers/browser extensions have their own vulnerabilities. Plus you’re likely using WiFi, which is ironically way less secure than high security Bluetooth. Or you’re having to boot into tails from a flash drive, which still doesn’t address the browser/WiFi issues.Small, easy to use, gorgeous screen (compared to competition).Also don’t need to wipe the device for software updates. That’s huge. Support for multiple wallets on multiple networks with the ability to add custom tokens makes it perfect for DeFi.You should be using a cold wallet, and the D’CENT makes that easy and convenient. Bought for storing Stellar trustline assets offline and couldn't be happier with my purchase. Easy to use, just follow the steps. Took about 3-4 minutes for setup. Purchased in the middle of June and been using flawlessly since. As for it not containing a usb-c cable, not a big deal as those cables are so common these days and would rather no cable instead of some cheap twelve inch cable.Very important reminder: As with any other hardware wallet, just make sure the seal is not broken on the D'Cent original box packaging and you are fine. If seal is ripped, return and get a new one.

It was quick to set up and easy to use. Fingerprint biometrics is a bit touchy and can take several attempts to work. The software does not allow you to buy and sell from within the app. Cant say as it makes me feel any more or less secure than I feel with my flex cold wallet that I also own. the Dcent cold wallet does do a better job handling my assets in terms actual movement of the asset(s).

No cable, finger print reader did not work. 30 days in I get a notification for a firmware upgrade. Not going to risk it. I fell it’s been tampered with. This doesn’t feel legit.

Easy to use and understand. Instructions were clear and they even have a step by step series of YouTube videos available should you need them. The mobile app is very simple and intuitive. I've never had issues connecting my wallet to my phone via Bluetooth. From what I understand, there is no desktop app so you are using your smartphone. The wallet interface is clean and not cluttered with useless menu options. You do not need to connect to your D'cent wallet to check up on how your cryptos are doing. Biometric is kinda finicky. Definitely not perfect and it does fail. That's why I knocked off a star. Fortunately you can login via PIN when it fails.

I ended up having a ton of crypto that I needed to transfer off of three separate exchanges. The pros of this product are many, but the ones that led to me buying the D’CENT cold storage wallet were its size and the biometric finger print reader. The size is great compared to others on the market. I’m a little older so being able to see the text in screen is importantly to me and it’s very easy to see. The biometric finger print reader is nice to have and it makes logging into the device really easy. I hate to sound morbid, but I’ve given my wife instruction on how to use the wallet and if something happens to me she’ll be able to still use my finger to login and transfer our crypto holdings to an exchange where she call sell it all off if that’s what she wants to do. The wallet is designed well and doesn’t feel cheap in any way. It’s also extremely intuitive and easy to use. Lastly, you set a lot of features and more as composted to other cold storage wallets. Plus, with all of this, it’s typically $40 bucks cheaper than other popular cloud storage wallets.
