Has anyone tried this to upgrade their Alienware X51 R1 with gtx660 with this gpu ? any thoughts ?

Alienware x51 i7 3770k 8gb ram gtx 555 upgraded to this card. I shouldve upgraded sooner.Swap with the gtx 555, and its plug and play. 0 issues what so ever

What psu wattage would be recommended for this card?

The recommended minimum PSU wattage is 400 on this particular card. This card drains 120 watts compared to 130 on the GTX 760 OEM and 120 on the GTX 660 OEM. Since this card uses the OEM fan and clock speeds it is essentially an OEM card. If you plan to overclock your card or CPU I'd suggest buying a slightly more powerful PSU to accommodate any voltage changes.

Whats the length? i have an original x51 (2011) and i think it will only fit up to 9.5 cm.; amazon says 10cm, but others say it fits. anyone clarify

I'm not familiar with Alienware, but I use the Fractal Design Define XL R2 FD-CA-DEF-XL-R2-BL and have to take out my hard drive to put in and remove this card comfortably. If you want a GTX 960 you "know" will fit, the EVGA GeForce GTX 960 02G-P4-2962-KR 2GB SC it only 6.8 inches long. But everyone with an X51 says you'll be alright so I feel you should be fine.
