Are these sized for mobile kit?

I don't know what you mean by mobile kit, but if you mean can you transport these around, yes they came in a cardboard box a little bigger than a shoebox and I can easily pack them up and stow away when they're not being played with

What is the approximate size of the miniatures?

1-1/2 to 2 inches. Good sizes for use of several at a time in smaller sand trays.

Does this kit come with the tray and sand or just minatures?

Hi Nicole! Yes, miniatures only. Other listings on amazon have the sand and tray. Thank you
