Highly recommend! These people are amazing! I love their approach and they don’t even advertise their book. That speaks volume to their character. Basically everything in the book is online but I would much rather have the book in case I lost power due to any emergency situation. The information can be a bit overwhelming if you are new to planning for an emergency situation, but just do a little at a time and eventually you’ll get there.I like the writers approach. Some people that teach prepping or planing do it in a way that induces fear, but the the Providenal Prepper is simply trying to help and encourage you to have a plan in a emergency situation in a very calming way.

Excellent book full of good info. They have a website and YouTube channel that I highly recommend and this book compliments the two very well. They're extremely knowledgeable and give very down to earth solutions for many prepper problems.

It seems that we are living in uncertain times. And thinking through different possible events that could happen is a way to prepare both mentally and physically. Evaluating our needs and then working to meet them is the place to begin. This book walks you through that process, pointing out areas of need and shares ideas on how to meet those needs. It is a great read with very insightful information. Yes, I recommend this book!

This is the best book about preparedness I've seen and I have a lot of them. The checklists are complete and the explanations are excellent. If you really want to be prepared, get this book and do the work. (Yes, you already know it takes a lot of work.) If I could only keep one preparedness book it would be this one.

This really is a "common sense" guide describing how to prepare for various emergencies such as hurricanes, floods, wild fires, power outages, EMP attacks, or just getting stranding due to an accident on the freeway. It helps you think through various scenarios so you can prepare ahead of time. It would make a good gift for almost anyone, but especially for someone just moving out on their own, or newlyweds. It reminds me of a college level 'textbook' - very thorough, but a little wordy.

I liked that it provided a comprehensive over view of potential situations, work sheets to help prioritize actions to be taken, gives addresses for additional research information, and is very dense with good practical information. It is not a how to, or a cook book.

My friend had this book and I borrowed it.Now I wanted to have my own.Great book to study and prepare for emergency.

I began keeping up with the Jones' after finding their You Tube material well structured and easy to understand. I bought the book to have everything together in one place. Its poor illustrations are my one gripe. Anyone who remembers those self-published 'brewing better beers' handbooks from the pre-digital 'sixties and ’seventies will know exactly what I mean: blurred, grainy black-and-white images that are too small and tell you very little. I can't understand why they took this decision quite honestly. Technology permits us to be more demanding these days, and there can be no excuse for serving up this kind of pictorial fare in a publication barely seven years old. Be that as it may let us concede that what the book does it does well, which is to furnish clear advice that is properly thought out, crisply written, and with something of value for the advanced student as well as the beginner. In no sense is the book too 'basic' as some allege, or if it is too ‘basic’ that what there is here will save lives many times over, I say so be it. I'm happy to recommend The Provident Prepper - just remember to watch the videos as well. Four stars for the terrible pictures.

Sometimes the thought of being prepared for emergencies can be paralyzing. Where do you start? HOW do you start? This book gives a fantastic base to start from. And what's even more appreciated is that the Jones have a real 'community spirit' that they delve into. Most prepping groups shy away from that, and it makes it hard to really connect with the lessons because it's very all or nothing, us against them, when it comes to a lot of other books.This book really shows that it's possible to be prepared for emergencies for yourself and your family AND for keeping in mind that we're people. Not animals.Great work!

It does have SOME unique ideas/plans, BUT there are better Prepping books out there. Do your research before you buy a bunch of prepping books that just repeat the same information.
