the reviews that say it doesn't stay flat are from impatient people. it comes rolled, obviously you'll need to weight it down for an hr and it'll be fine. Does detters cats but you do need to lay it down the entire surface. Obviously a cat could jump over it, even two next to eachother a cat can jump. that being said, I used it for under my bed. initially because there was a "ceiling" i thought i could lay one row along the perimeter but they jumped over it. so bought 3 packs of 2 to cover the entire floor of my California king bed. they hook together to create a fully covered surface. detters the cats now and i can still put things under my bed. very easy to put together especially when your using it correctly. I got it on sale so it was worth the price but now the value went up. I'm looking for a cheaper version.

We have a little kitten who likes to get into the pots of our houseplants and play with the soil/dig/make a mess. This scat mat works great for us! She plays with the scat mat from outside the pot by touching it with her little paws (which is totally fine) but doesn't get into the plants anymore. But it only works for us on soil - it didn't work on furniture with some electronics on it that she likes to run around on. She presses buttons etc while she's exploring, so it's not ideal that she gets up there (she's allowed to explore and climb literally everywhere else and has a cat tree and all kinds of awesome kitty stuff, but no, she has to get into the electronics and the plants). Anyway, the scat mat didn't work there because she can just walk on it very carefully and still press stuff unlike in soil.

This product works great to keep the cats off of our kitchen cabinets. It's easy to.roll out and can be cut to size with scissors. Only down side is that it keeps curling back up. We left it out in the sun a few days to try to get it to lay flat but even then it still curls up some and looks bad on top of our cabinets

We were having an issue with neighbor's cats using our cement flower bed as its litter box. So we put in new soil and added this scat mat around the new giant impatiens. It has worked perfectly! No more digging and smell just as we come out our front door. And it is safe for kitty as these are just plastic. Noting to hurt kitty. They just can’t dig anymore.

This didn't work for the cats in my neighbor hood. They pooped on it. They said "let's show her what we think about her spikes." They all have collars, so they belong to someone. Now I need to figure out what else I could use them for, because it's not cats.

This looks good, but did not have the plastic hooks or clips which were in the photos. I can't use it, then, because they are what attached it to the soil. Useless.

Probably one the best purchases I've ever made. I HATE my cats getting up on my counters and tables. They don't when I'm home because I have a spray bottle at the ready and will spray them until they get down. But I recently got indoor security cameras and have captured them getting up on things they shouldn't numerous times while I'm gone. (Luckily I already clean them a lot) I've had these a few days now and they havent even tried. I have a hook between the fridge and wall where I hang them when I need those surfaces. I just cut one to length to sit on my piano too because I don't want them on there either. I'm so glad I stumbled on these! I'm absolutely going to get more.

I bought these mats to keep rabbits and small animals from eating the sprouts in my vegetable garden and I am very happy with them! I place them over the seeds until they are an inch or 2 high, then move them to the side of the rows as a deterrent. (Photo is the wrong color because those are from a different set-- I ended up getting 2!)
