Farberware 5243363 Ceramic Knife Set, 2-Piece, Black

I'd been meaning to give ceramic knives a try given what I've read about them. The day these arrived, I just had to try them out on some smaller tomatoes I had picked from my garden (cherry tomato size). I was delighted to feel them cut right through without squeezing the innards of the tomato out on subsequent cuts. These are also great on soft cheeses - you can get a thinner cut and the cheese doesn't stick to the blade as much as my stainless steel blades (even block american cheese like Velveeta). I have also used them on chicken breast, which they also worked well for.One thing to note is that the instructions do mention to always use an appropriate cutting board (to not dull the blades) and to not use them on harder cheeses (they're ceramic, so trying to pry / force is ill-advised). I have a knife sharpener that has a special place to sharpen ceramic, but I haven't had to use that yet - you definitely don't want to use a normal sharpener on these either (again, they're ceramic - they aren't as hearty a material as steel).

The 2 knives work great. They are very sharp and easy to clean. They work great for cutting vegetables, meat, or anything needing to be cut in the kitchen. I bought these to replace an old set of ceramic knives I had, and couldn't be happier.

I use these for cutting soft meat and apples. So far no problems and easy to clean.

These knives are amazing yes they are brittle but all ceramic knives are they came in and I was so happy with the sharpness of them

I love the blade design you can use it like a professional chef. After you cut veggies it stick to blade so you just put in fry pan or bowl. Easy peasy. Just don't use on glass cutting board it will cut glass. Stay sharp and Jab a friend with VAX cause ya love em and want them around

Sounds like folks have been experiencing quality control issues. My two pack came sharpened with normal handles; I’m sorry to hear that anybody experienced otherwise. While this is my first time owning ceramic blades, I feel it’s a great set for the money and the included protective sheaths are just what I needed for packing my lunch and storing in my SINGULAR kitchen drawer (if you assumed space is at a premium and a knife block is not feasible, you are correct! hah).My only critique is that if the juice of something pigmented like soft beets or red pepper dries on the blade, it will obviously stain and stay. I suspect there’s a way to remedy this with something like lemon after the fact but I’m not too pressed. Should stains freak you out, be sure to rinse and wash immediately.

I fell in love with ceramic knives. Mine had chipped and I was not looking forward to a shopping spree to find replacements. Amazon.com to the rescue. I was able to replace not just one but both sizes I used ALL THE TIME. And they came with a blade guard.

I don't like that if you drop them they break.

received the set and after one use, the blade broke at the handleI contacted the address on the back of the packing and was notified this was only for U.S. people but they were nice enough to give me a canadian addressI contacted them and they said that this was not their product - so I was going round in circles with no reliefWould I buy this product again - based on their warranty, not a hope in hell!
