Meike MK-X100FG Aluminum Alloy Hand Grip Quick Release Plate L Bracket for Fujifilm X-100F

This is a four star product that is less than a millimeter--literally--shy of five.First, the pluses:The ergonomic improvement using this is 10/10 and worth the price of admission in and of itself. As others have noted it is simply a perfect addition to the x100F and it feels great in the hand. They even matched the texture of the leatherette part of the Fuji, though it isn't quite as sticky. Not a problem in my opinion however I noticed a reviewer on YouTube recommends using an additional layer of tape. I feel like this is overkill but if you want a little more grip go for it.The unexpected heft of the x100F is one of the things I love about using this camera, so a tiny increase in weight using this grip is not unwelcome, and I also like how it is svelte enough to still fit in a jacket pocket.I use 67mm filters across my camera systems and this gives me that extra amount of clearance I need to use a step up ring (in conjunction with the Fuji filter adapter) and have the camera sit flat on a surface. On that note, it's great having this extra security for the bottom plate as I feel as though the door for the battery/SD card is a longstanding complaint with the x100F as it frequently opens on its own and doesn't feel as robust as the rest of the camera's construction. This plate solves that and adds two tripod mounts in better locations than the original Fuji one, including one that is dead center with the lens. Kudos to them for making a plate that fits perfectly without blocking access to any doors.I have two main complaints, one small, one big:First, I don't think it would have killed them to include a hex wrench to install it. It's a size that may or may not be represented in a box of leftover IKEA installation parts you may have sitting around. I had to use the 5/32 wrench from my SAE wrench kit. Would love to have a dedicated wrench that I can keep in my camera bag.Secondly, I was extremely disappointed to find that this doesn't fit securely on my RRS BH-55 tripod head with lever release. It's either a hair too narrow, or the dovetail cuts in the plate are at too sharp of an angle and there is nothing for it to grab onto and it instead slides quite liberally within the mount. This is unfortunately a huge annoyance to me as I was really hoping for a single elegant solution for using this with my existing tripod head. Instead, I'll need to use yet another Arca Swiss plate attached to one of the two tripod holes in order to get this to work properly. I wish I could confirm if a screw lock tripod head would hold this but I don't have access to one.If you're just getting this for the ergonomics and the extra protection for the bottom, it's a no brainer. If you need it for tripod use, proceed with caution. It would be great to hear if others have noticed this issue or if they have success using screw lock arca swiss heads.

I have larger hands and this grip (with tripod mount) really increased my comfort with handling the X100F. The base works with a tripod mount (arca Swiss). I do wish they had one in silver finish to match my brown leather/ silver finish on the camera. That is why my rating is a 4 instead of a 5.

I know part of what makes the x100f camera a great camera is its size. Luckily this grip doesn't add too much on top, or bottom, of this cameras size. It does however add a unique and perfect, for me, user experience. It adds just enough weight, and grip to make it feel more sturdy in hand. Plus it makes the camera itself stand out with a nice look to it. Ill upload photo later.

Along with thumb grip, this item makes it easier - much easier - to hold the camera in one hand. Fuji should design their cameras with this item in mind.

This is a well made product, fits my camera perfectly. Feels good in my hands. Works great on my tripod too. I highly recommend this product.

This grip would have been perfect if the manufacturer used a different grip material (faux leather or rubber) than hard plastic. With that one caveat, the hand grip fits perfectly with my X100F

This grip fits and works perfectly. I can't imagine paying more for the Fuji-made grip.

I love this grip. It's perfect for someone with big hands. I use it on my X100F with a wrist strap. It fits nice and tight and is well made and lightweight. It even has a opening on the bottom so you can replace the battery without taking it off. The price is reasonable also.
