Monikers Party Game – Guess The Name on The Card!

LOVE this game! It’s great for parties, family get-togethers etc. I would describe it as a Charades/Catchphrase Combo. Each person picks a certain amount of descriptive cards, they all go in a stack and then players take turns trying to get their team to guess the words written on the card to earn points. 1st round : Player can say any phrases to describe the card WITHOUT saying the actual thing on the card (obviously) 2nd round : Player can only use ONE WORD to get their team to guess the card 3rd Round: Charades- you act the card out. The pile of cards stays the same throughout the rounds so guessing gets easier since you remember cards from previous rounds.All in all this game is easy to learn and you can control the difficulty based on the cards each player chooses to go into the main deck. I’ve played it with people from ages 10-80 and have never laughed so much during a game. Moody teenagers and grandparents alike enjoyed it and seeing my father in law trying to act out the iconic flash dance water scene was worth the game price.Get it for a good time you won’t regret it.

After an enthusiastic review of Monikers on Shut Up and Sit Down, I knew I had to have this game. It's essentially Charades/Celebrities, but vastly improved, and with updated characters. The game has hundreds of cards, and each has a lovely little description of a character to help you in the first round. They range anywhere from Nyancat to Nobody to Tom Selleck's Moustache, in a hilarious reference filled romp through popular culture.First round everyone can use a full sentence to describe the character. Second round, they may only use one word. Third round, can only be acting a la charades. Fourth (optional) round can be one sound, one face action, etc. Since you play with the same deck, your knowledge of the deck improves with each round, but your information about the current card that is being acted out becomes significantly harder.Competitive play is two groups against each other in 1 minute rounds, while cooperative allows one minute per card for the three rounds. We played both, and coop especially was a blast, as you spent time laughing instead of watching the time. We recommend a coop house rule where if the card cannot be guessed, it is kept and passed along to the next player. The look of realisation on their face is priceless!There are some small issues that may arise when playing the game. One of course, is long-term replayability, as the deck is seen. That said, we played a few rounds where similar cards were used, and they played entirely differently. Another is playing with people who may not get all the references in the deck, which may hinder enjoyment. Finally, if there are difficulties with reading, or bad light, it becomes a tad harder to play the game.All in all, a beautifully designed and extremely fun game. Very much recommended!

This is such a fun party game! This is one of my favorites to break out when we have friends over. If you're hesitating, stop right now and put it in your cart!

I’m not even exaggerating when I say this is the best game ever. I got this as a gift for my cousin, who is the biggest board game fan/collector. He LOVES it, and we play it at family gatherings all the time (and we never get tired of it!!) The cards come in a huge variety of niche topics to hilarious topics. You could also buy extension packs, which are just as good in addition to the original Monikers. It’s a great and easy-to-understand game for the family; we usually play from ages 9-24 (some of the extension packs do include more adult topics so be aware). The artwork and design of the cards are super neat, and the box is super convenient to carry around! Overall, Monikers is one of the best games ever - 100% recommend!!

Really fun game for most ages, haven't had anyone dislike this one. There are some PG-13 material if you want to have children play it'll need to be filtered ahead of time

Love the game, but it arrived damaged. A corner of the game box was already ripped/detached.

I've only played this game 3 times so far but each time was so fun that I had to buy it. It had everyone up, screaming, laughing, and having a good time. I borrowed my friend's set to play with family and I've had so many requests to bring it again, that I decided to buy my own pack. Everyone in my friend group and family love it (ages 9-85). Its very easy to learn and each time playing is different.
