DysonAsthma & Allergy Kit

The media could not be loaded.  This kit is required because the hand tools included with the newer Dysons are absolutely awful and almost useless. The tools in this kit are great for both older and new models. The dust brush is large (~7" x 2") and covers a lot of surface area. The flexible crevice tools fits under my washer and fits under my dryer if I lift it a bit. The mattress tool is also wide (almost 8" x 1-1/2"), has material to prevent marring along the length of both sides and can be used to vacuum furniture if you don't have one of the turbo hand tools. The adapter lets me use all the tools on my old DC07.The Dyson DC39 canister comes with the worst hand tools I've ever had. The crevice tool is fine but to then call it a combination tool with a brush is a joke; it covers a much smaller surface area than their old brush (see video where older, better brush is on the left and new silly combo tool brush on the right) -- it would take forever to dust with this tiny brush plus it's awkward attached to the crevice tool, making it longer than it needs to be -- not ergonomic so who knows what the engineer was thinking, obviously not a person who uses it to dust; it may be a better crevice tool but a terrible replacement for the brush. The so-called stair tool is a fraction of the size of the tool that came with my Dyson DC07 (see video where older, better version is on the right and the newer one on the left) and has material along only one edge so if you have wood stairs like I do, you worry about scratches; I'm not sure I have any use for this tool at all.

Saving time is highest priority for me. I am juggling a home based business, home maintenance, pet care, and routine physical workouts so I have to GET IT DONE effectively in a short period of time. Adding The Asthma and Allergy Kit to my Dyson DC25 (Pet Hair Model)really helps me to do that. I am delighted with the results I get in a short time. Since I choose to allow my cats to snooze on the furniture, I have to deal with some pet hair in addition to regular dirt and dust. With the Asthma and Allergy Kit, its a breeze going through a room with my four step system: mattress tool on the upholstery, followed by the soft duster on hard surfaces, followed by the flexible crevice tool for sliding door tracks, with step four being a thorough vacuuming of the carpet and tile floors. There are no other products to carry around, no switching from vacuum to dust rags etc. I knocked twenty minutes off cleaning time and wound up with rooms that felt fresh and clean, because I had the time and tools to do the "Corners" that I usually skip. Now I am happy to vacuum/dust at least one room every day, because the Asthma and Allergy Kit makes it fast and easy. For me, this product was a good value purchase. P. S. Some reviewers have commented that the soft dusting brush has scratched computer and television screens. I am still using a micro cloth to clean the screens, but it is hard to see how the bristles on the soft bristle brush would scratch as long as you don't press down. I am testing this on an old screen and will update my review.

Finally, something I can using to quickly clean the blinds... the soft brush that comes with this package is awesome. I have been using it to clean the blinds, picture frames, door frames, lamp shades, the wall, etc... very versatile.The other two items... they are OK... but I haven't been as impressed, especially with the crevice tool. The little brush piece was poorly designed. They already did a great job with the onboard one (if you have the DC28, possibly others) where the brush slides back... with this one you have to take it off. I foresee losing it in the future due to this. Not to mention, it is incredibly hard to take off!! It can be put on-board the vacuum in-place of the crevice tool which comes with the vacuum (again, on the DC28, cannot speak for other models).The mattress tool, is a larger stair tool.. it is nice for vacuuming a larger area, say a stair which is that wide! :) I have been preserving it for the mattress though as I would rather not using something on the bed I used on the stairs. Worked well... I used it on the comforter actually and the red strips caught a lot of cat hair.I highly recommend it for the brush tool at a minimum. The price I paid it was worth it (little less than paying for 2 of the included items separately)... I will probably use the others enough to justify the extra cost, but just not as impressed with those.

I bought this kit because I lost my edge tool while cleaning my guest room and to just buy the edge tool was almost as much as buying this whole kit (it was on sale when I bought it). I thought this kit would be nice to have too. I admit, I use the mattress tool for more than vacuuming mattresses. In fact, I had NEVER vacuumed my mattresses until I got this kit, because I've never known anyone who did this. However, this tool works great on two upholstered ottomans I have that my cats like to lounge on, and on my office chairs, where they also lounge until I push them off. The duster tool works great for a variety of things - pictures, ceiling fan blades, lamp shades, and other tough to dust things - and the longer edge tool is very good for getting into places I haven't vacuumed in many, many years. Funny thing though, when my daughter came home from college for a visit, she found the lost edge tool between the guest bed mattress and the the foot board, and I know I looked there 3 times! She found it the very day this new kit arrived too. If I hadn't lost it, I would never have bought this kit.

We use all of the attachments. Mr Dyson is a genius! The price was good too! Shipped very quickly from Ireland to Canada.
