ZootMen’s Core 9-Inch Tri Shorts, Quick Dry Performance Triathlon Shorts with Cycling Chamois Pad, Pockets & UPF 50+ Fabric

These shorts are great to bike in if you want a bicycling short with a thin pad that dries very quickly. While I don't actually do triathlons I do bicycle a lot for transportation and have found triathlon shorts to be my best bike short option. Current bicycle shorts all seem to have pretty thick diaper like pads that I just don't need since my rear is relatively tough from biking all the time. Plus regular bicycle shorts tend to collect more sweat and stay wet longer. A smooth seam free short is very important for biking. These shorts are the most comfortable and attractive triathlon short I've tried yet. They also work great as "under" shorts under regular shorts with pockets. Some bicyclists may want a thicker short with more padding but not me. The Zoot shorts are excellent!

for some reason there is a "section" added at the bottom of the leg (see picture) instead of being a single piece. And that section is loose, like it was cut too big. Not sure the logic behind that cut.The rest is OK, sizing seems to work, padding is good.

I returned these and tried another brand. As stated in other reviews, the leg grippers were too loose on me.

I like the weight of the material which gave good compression on my thighs. I liked the red trim. I got size L (I'm 5'8" and 160 pounds) which was fine at waist and top of my thighs, but the last two inches were not tight on my legs above my knees. I figured if I used them swimming that they would probably get even more loose. The seat pad was thin like I was looking for so it probably would have been comfortable when swimming. The 9" length was good. But because it was loose on the bottom I sent them back.

After a 10 year lay off, I decided to start training again. Zoot is one of the brands I really liked and as soon as I saw these tri-shorts, I bypassed the competition, and bought them immediately. The fit just right, are true to size (yes they stretch), and are tight in the right places. They last forever. The only reason why I didn’t use my old ones... I went up a size after my hiatus.

The pad is a lot more narrow than others TRI shorts I’ve used. They were very uncomfortable the first time I rode in they. They got better and we’re fine for a 75 mile ride over the weekend. Quality is great.

The fit is great. Very comfortable. Love the pockets. Did my all three splits of my full Ironman in them with no chafing, no saddle soreness.

I am a regular cyclist outdoors and spinner indoors. I recently tried some other brands of riding shorts that were less money and got what I paid for --> shorts with poor fit, poor compression; did not wear over time. Zoot shorts are well constructed; pairs I've had before have worn well over time; good compression.
