Excellent Dremel cutting disc kit, but be careful not to force them
Dremel EZ688-01 EZ Lock Rotary Tool Cutting Discs: $15.00 at the time of reviewMy Dremel tool is one of my favorite and most often used tools in my garage. It’s easily some of the best money I’ve spent on a multi-purpose kit. That said, the bits that came with it aren’t the greatest for cutting, so I ordered this cutting disc set when I had some fine metal cutting that needed to be done.*What I liked*:The storage case is a nice reusable plastic box with included dividers. If you don’t already have a place to keep your loose router bits, it’ll do.There are a couple of different discs for various types of cutting (plastic, metal, etc.). Basically any disc can be used in a pinch, but sticking to the right disc for the right medium will extend their life. These things can CUT. I’ve used them for everything from ½” metal rods to laminated vinyl plank flooring and they are champs at small cuts. The EZlock adapter makes switching discs super easy. Just be careful when you take them off immediately after cutting. They are hot enough to burn you from the friction of use.*What I didn't like*:They do wear down pretty quickly from general use. This isn’t like a $15 dollar set of drill bits that you might expect to last a few years. I’ve already gone through an entire set of these and bought another. So just expect to have to replace them sooner than other tools. The metal ring in the middle that attaches the disc to the EZlock bit is prone to breaking if there’s too much friction from the surface you’re trying to cut. I’ve lost three discs (out of 20) to the disc itself separating from the metal grommet (which breaks it off of the bit, making it worthless). Just don’t be aggressive with how much pressure you apply as you’re cutting and you’ll probably be fine. These *only* work with the EZlock bit. Now, this set comes with one, but if you lose it, you’re gonna have to buy another before you can use these discs again.*The Bottom Line:*This set is fantastic for mixes-medium cutting. I find it an indispensable part of my home toolkit. Despite their noted flaw of being susceptible to breakage from their grommet, they are a resounding five stars out of five. Not only would I order them again, I have whenever I run out.

I love this kit
I've been wearing out Dremel moto tools for over 50 years and have used their cutting wheels for just as long with the wounds from ceramic type wheels flying apart to show. I was needing to form a bunch of heavy stainless steel parts for a prototype design and discovered Dremel's newer "metal cutting" discs with this EZ Lock mandrel while looking for a bulk package of screw on type cutting wheel discs and had to try this out. This is the best thing to come along for cutting with a dremel rotary tool in a long time. For starters, I still have not worn down or broken the 1st cutting wheel to the point of needing to replace it although I'm getting close. I have cut through a boat load of 3mm stainless wire in the process.A. The EZ-lock feature gave me a little pause at first since it just didn't seem like it really held the disc well, but I put on my safety glasses and went to work. No problems whatsoever. It might even be that the EZ Lock feature lets the disc float a little in use so there is less stress on it if you are slightly out of alignment holding the tool as you cut. While I didn't have to change a disc on this project, it is a piece of cake. It takes longer to tighten the mandrel into the tool chuck than it does to swap out a disc.B. These more specialized cutting wheels are great. They are slightly thicker than the originals I'm familiar with from way back, but thinner than the reinforced 3rd party types I've used. They are a little pricier than the old thin wheels but competitive with many of the reinforced wheels I've tried over the years. The convenience and the utility of these was better than anything else I've tried and the disc went through the stainless like no mechanical cutter I've used before.Very happy I stumbled on this kit and these parts. No idea how long they've been around, but sure wish I'd seen them sooner.

Super easy changeout system, still hurts when the discs die
First off: I LOVE the new changeout system. Very easy to do, and once you do it the first time, you wonder why on earth they hadn't invented this before! So simple, so user friendly. Awesome advance, and well worth changing out bits to get this new attachment. The metal cutting blade in this pack did very well... initially. I was sawing off screw ends that went through some plywood on a chicken coop left and right. I probably went through 20 when my crazy sensitive ears detected a slight change in tone (instead of the usual higher pitch whirrr of the rotary tool, it had deepened slightly in the sound it was making). Within 2 screws of that, it broke apart and popped me just under the nose and across my arm. Now... anyone who has used a dremel for cutting metal knows this is inevitable. This happens. A good reminder to pay attention to the tone of the machine, because that's the only clue you get. However, the thicker blade vs the old thin reddish ones may have helped. No cuts, just a small line bruise on my arm, and a few moments of holding my mouth and my eyes watering. LoL. No bruise on my face. Sure beats cuts! So, honestly.. I'm not real sure if it's "2x's longer lasting" or not. I think so, but it has been a while since I did that much metal cutting. But, they give out in the same fashion (ka-blewy!)Overall, this kit is worth it if you're still on the old tiny-screw-head holders for your cutting disks. This makes life much easier!

Muy bueno
El precio es muy bueno (530 mxn) por los 10 discos y el adaptador. La llave EZ es muy práctica; y la caja tiene incluido unos separadores para convertir la caja en un almacenador de más discos

Quality item
Very happy with my purchase and as other reviews have stated the locking mechanism is excellent giving one confidence the disk will stay in place. There is a good assortment of disks with the quality being obvious. So far have used the thin metal disk to cut copper pipe and it cut very well and accurately. I purchased this item on Amazon as a major hardware chain had no stock. I was pleasantly surprised that with free delivery the cost was almost identical.

Excelente producto

Doesn't work for pumpkin carving / comes apart in water
As a supplement to the #911 carving bit recommended for excavating pumpkins, I thought I'd try a cutoff wheel for the wet work of cutting the traditional hole in the top. Bought the kit because it had the mandrel and more wheels. TO MY SURPRISE, once the wheel comes in contact with the pumpkin juice, the flange in the wheel separates almost instantly from the wheel. It would appear they're glued together with water-soluble glue. I'll try again on a bit of plastic & metal, before contemplating return. I wouldn't have expected this from Dremel.
