Initially, Automatic Dog Waterer works great ... but a few days later, it stopped working ... apparently is a problem with water pressure because when I let the side tube open, it start working again ... but its too much water to lose... any way, i guess it's not quite ready and It will get better in time..

I love the idea, its just that I'm too stupid to train my dogs who I know are smarter than I am.

I tried two of these and had the exact same problem. It starts out working as described but after a few uses seems like the valve starts malfunctioning which confuses the dogs as well as myself. The overall product seems to be well made but if it does not work then what good is it. From what I can tell, the problem is in the mechanics of how the pedal pushes the value down to open it. The valve seems to slide out of place and the pedal just glides over it instead of pushing it downward so that it can open properly. The two that I tried started doing this after within hours of being setup ... didn't even make it a full day to be honest. The other problem I found is in the hose clamps on both ends. They are very cheap metal and will not hold. I had to replace them with better made 5/8 screw drive hose clamps. Definitely the problem is in the valve. I took the second one apart and played around with it off and on. I made some modifications and got it to work ... tried to contact Paw Prince to no avail ... They wanted an instructional video on my modifications but offered no reward. Oh Well. Unless you are handy with tools and a bit mechanical ... I would stay away from this product. The frustration + $50 bucks is not worth it.I would not recommend buying this product as it will just confuse your dogs. You train them to step and nothing comes out!!!

I have received the Dog Waterer. My young German Shepherd (8 months) got it immediately while my older (4 years) is still not clear on "the paw on plate for water) but loves it when I push it. She resists using her foot and fights me when I hold her and press her foot. She will catch on I'm sure as its only been a few days and she has other sources of water - it's in the 90,s here. I'm hoping "you can teach an old dog new tricks" Ha.

If only could train the dog.

This seller ships to the US Virgin Island which I GREATLY appreciated!!! The equipment is pretty basic but the waterer didn't come with any instructions. It took me awhile to figure out how to adjust the water flow so that it was consistent. Now, if I can just get my dogs trained to step on this silly thing we'll be all set! ;-)

This is a good idea but it quit working for us. After about 3 or 4 times of my dog pushing down on it, it stopped squirting water. It seems there was a malfunction in the valve part of the device. The hose connection is hard to make having to feed it through a small hole and then attach a hose clamp in a very small space. That connection as well as the connection to the water spigot leaked profusely. The adjustment on the valve didn't seem to work either so the water stream was quite tall and seemed to blast out at first, spraying my dog in the face. It seemed to be good quality but to stop working after 20 minutes of use is unacceptable. Good idea but it needs some improvement.
