Bought for my GoPro Hero 3+ Silver Edition
I am writing this review because I was hesitant on buying this case versus the GoPro Hero 3+ skeleton case. My biggest concern was will it fit my GoPro Hero 3+ Silver Edition. The answer is YES. This case is a little bigger than the 3+ case that comes with the GoPro 3+ but the camera fits nice and snug, no wiggle at all. All the button work/are accessible and both a micro usb and micro Hdmi cable can be connected at the same time, as long as you don’t have excessively wide connectors. The only problem regarding this case is when you try to remove the micro SD card with the case still on you will find that the case is just too big for you to easily pull out the micro SD card. You can easily insert a micro SD card in the slot and secure it with the case on, but to take out the card you’ll need some nails on your fingers or you’ll have to remove the case.Overall, I am very pleased with the case. It fit my GoPro Hero 3+ Silver fine and now I get better audio recording with the camera. I can access all buttons and wires without removing the case. For the price, this version that was made for the Hero 3 works great on my Hero 3+ just keep in mind what I said about removing the micro SD card if that is a deal breaker.Pros:-Price versus the new Hero 3+ version-GoPro quality productCons:-Removing the micro SD card requires you to have nails/a micro SD card that catches/or removal of the case.

Compatible but not compatible with Hero4.
This case is compatible with the GoPro Hero4 however there are some things that are not listed in the description.First of all the backs that come with the GoPro Hero4 are not compatible with this case (I'm guessing that the Hero3 and Hero3+ backdoors work). In order to fully protect the back of this case you must purchase the specific backdoors for this case.Secondly if you purchase this case you will not be able to use the battery/touch backpak unless you purchase or already have the other backdoors.Overall I'm less than impressed with the case after first inspection but I'll update my review after I've used it for a while. If you have a GoPro Hero4 don't buy this case! I'd purchase the smaller Skeleton Housing from GoPro.Update:I have since returned this case and I purchased the GoPro Hero 3+ skeleton housing. It's better for me as the backdoors that came with my GoPro Hero 4 fit. I know find myself using the skeleton housing more (its great for long timelapses) because I haven't used it for underwater or extreme condition shots. I highly recommend the Hero 3+ skeleton housing. Here is the link: GoPro Hero3+ Skeleton Housing One Size It can be found for $49.99 at Best Buy.

Be sure you order the right housing
This is a nice, sturdy product, but it does not work for me. The product details for this Skeleton Housing say "Compatible with the GoPro Hero3, Hero3+, and Hero4". I have a GoPro 3+. This Skeleton Housing does fit my GoPro 3+, but when I exchanged the back door with another door to accommodate for my touchscreen, the door will not close and is too small for this housing. I am returning this product and purchasing one specifically for the GoPro 3+. Be sure you get the one specifically for your camera if you ever plan to change out the back door. Otherwise it will not be compatible. This Skeleton Housing is meant for the older GoPro 3 generation. It will work fine for the GoPro 3+, but not with a new GoPro 3+ back door.

Works great for getting better audio
The difference in camera audio with this case compared to the waterproof one is staggering. It is just as rugged and sturdy as the other one and perhaps moreso as the latch has some extra locking measures that would go well on the standard waterproof case.My only criticizm is that if you want to plug in your USB or HDMI you need to take the camera out and remove the cover, this case doesn't give you access to remove it... can be a good thing if you're in a high-impact situation and don't want the cover accidentally flying off but I found it somewhat of a nuisance but by no means a dealbreaker. Get this if you need any kind of usable audio from the camera!

Not compatible with GoPro case accessories.
Took out the case today and attempted to put my GoPro open back cover on, so I could use my touch back. Unfortunately this revealed a major problem with the skeleton housing. It's way bigger than the GoPro housings. If you have a GoPro 4 Silver you will not be able to use or see the touch back, and I did not know how critical this would be until this last weekend. I was at Devil's Tower WY and attempted to view my recordings, but the black window pad blocked the view. So I decided to install the open back so I would use the display. FAIL.If you have any GoPro other than the 4 Silver this will be a fine housing, but it was listed to cover the Silver, but the design renders its display useless. It does work with most of the GoPro accessories, but anther problem with the width is that the long thumb screws are obstructed by the width of the case.Other wise this is a nice and well built case.

great for my chest harness while cycling
This was purchased so I can capture audio better than with just the skeleton backdoor on the waterproof housing. It was a sort of shot in the dark, because the skeleton backdoor seems pretty wide open. The side access ports of this housing, combined with the improved ventilation of the backdoor makes capturing audio easy. Don't interpret this as "you don't need a microphone" if you're trying to produce movies. The reason I chose this over "the frame" housing is because I wanted a little protection from thumps and bumps while cycling the trails. It does a great job of capturing the sounds of my tires losing traction, trail debris, and the occasional grunt while I'm out riding. It even captures the humming of my tires when I'm going fast on blacktop. Definitely good enough for recording my rides!

A decent skeleton housing for GoPro Hero 3.
Buy it, buy it now!Seriously though, it's a decent case for a GoPro 3 which has the side opening for access to the usb and card slots. If you need to access the USB and need some protection at the same time (such as for motovlogging or extended recording sessions needing a power supply), then I recommend this case.

Exactly what you have come to expect from GoPro
Usual high quality GoPro product. Very happy: gives good access to all ports and allows the camera to run considerably cooler.

Also doch gleich ein neues Gehäuse kaufen? Für den Preis teuer aber eigentlich haltbar bis einer gewissen Anzahl von Öffnungen oder nach 3-4 Jahre bis die Weichmacher das Plastik verlassen.
