Classic Vintage Look
I am super happy with these. Got them to restore an older vintage schwin le tour road bike. I paired these with chrome toe clips and leather straps. Made my bike look sooooo good. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it if thats the look you are going for. You will have to put some grease in the bearings of these (they were pretty stiff when I first got them). - Easy installation (5 min) - Great Look - You gonna have to grease these puppies when you install them

These pedals need some love. Before you use them. Grease love that is.
This is the second set of MKS pedals that I have purchased. Thank You for the very fast shipping. Both sets of these petals had a trace of grease on them. But no where near the amount of grease needed. Even if your riding weight is under twenty pounds. These new in the plastic wrap, pedal shafts / bearings felt bone dry. If you are installing these on a rusty beater yard sale Huffy. Well chances are (at least you have a shiny new pair of pedals). The last MKS pedal set went on a gift 420 Trek that I built for a friend. Trust me in the mid seventies, I rode a custom bike with new Campagnolo super record titanium shaft pedals. Plus a few other bikes that had the same Campy parts. These look nice for the money. The package states made in Japan. It is a simple job to open these up and grease them. 1. The dust caps need to be screwed off. Lefty loosey. 2. While holding the pedal shaft with a proper wrench or a small vise. Remove the 12mm top nut, followed by the small washer. 3. Then carefully unwind the large spindle nut. 4. All of the time keeping an eye on the loose ball bearings. 5. Apply a good grade grease to the exposed top bearings. (second picture) 6. Now thread on the cone shaped spindle nut back onto the pedal shaft. righty tighty It takes a gentle touch not to walk a loose bearing out of the top race. 7. After the top spindle nut is started and well greased. You can turn the pedal over and grease the other set of bearings. 8. Now the step that takes some time. While pressing the large (well greased) threaded pedal shaft end into the fresh grease.Turn the pedal over. 9. Continue to tighten the large spindle nut until you feel it just getting tight. 10. Insert the washer and install the small lock nut. 11. It should have a very small amount of side play now. Maybe a third of a turn loose from the tight spot. 12 Now while holding the large threaded end of the pedal shaft. Tighten the lock nut. (don't break it or strip it!) You might need to do this part a few times to get it right. Always double check to make sure that you didn't walk a loose bearing out of the race. 13. Check the side to side looseness of the bearings. You would like it to have very little side to side play. 14. Place a little extra grease on the top lock nut and reinstall the dust cap. If you feel that you can just wear these pedals in.... without being greased. Well don't forget to turn the radio up. All of the little things add up. Unless you like to sound like an old coffee grinder, rolling down the road. If you have a pair of these pedals and would like them to last. Open them up and try to learn a little hands on time. If you are a white line hero, always wear a good helmet. (they still can't rebuild, a crushed head) As it helps with all of the drunk folks with no car insurance or those who text and drive over people... then just drive off. Stay safe God Bless.

wore out a pair of SR's this pedal is legendary and the only suitable choice, the good stuff.

Classic looks, but need grease
They work well. Keep in mind that these are the old style pedals that have loose ball bearings in them. I swapped from sealed bearing pedals to these simply because these have a bigger surface area without being overly big and have a nice classic styling. Like the others have said, you do need to open them up and grease them. I found a video on YouTube and it wasn't too hard.

They start out stiff- but that’s okay. Ride them!
Bought for a road bike that I was commuting on. Excellent with the toe straps. Smoothed out as I rode them and became the smoothest pedals I’ve ever owned. Trouble-free.

Awesome pedals
You can't go wrong buying mks pedals. I've installed these on my fixie, and the bearings start out a little rough, but they get smooth with a little riding. Plus, if you ever want to, you can switch out the bearings, which is rare in inexpensive pedals.

These are SO much better than not having any pedals
My old hybrid Trek 7900 had no pedals on it for the past few years. These are SO much better than not having any pedals. I like the retro look too, since I'm old. (This is Cecil, not Rachel!)
