GE WR17X12469 Genuine OEM Water Filter Head Assembly for GE Refrigerators

This is the exact fit for the GE model PFSS6KXASS I was working on. Check your model number and location of mounting holes before buying. The price I did not like the price but could not find alternative.

Solved our problem - now we get more than a trickle of water out of the dispenser and it's making ice like the day we bought it - and it was an easy fix. (Wasn't easy to isolate, though!) Had to cut the connectors off the old tubes. It seems the housing in the back wall of the fridge is one-way - I was able to insert the new cables through without any trouble but I could not pull the old cables out. I do have to say the cable from the filter housing to the pump (vs. the cable to the water supply) was a tad short so I had to bypass one of the cable guides. Not a big deal, though.

this worked well for the fridge. Maybe took me an hour to get the old one out and the new one in. Just followed the directions. Wish it would have been cheaper but based on the model and other complaints I will be replacing this every 5 years.

My husband was able to install this on our fridge and save a repair man fee.

Little disappointed since this is the second one I had to replace in 6 years. If the filter flanges were metal instead of plastic, I believe they would last as long as the refrigerator. But replacing the filter every 6 months, seems to cause flange fatigue and after 5 or 6 changes, they break.

Rather on the expensive side but it was an exact OEM replacement. Once replaced the water pressure was back to the original level.

Fixed the problem and took 20 minutes to install. This is the second time I install one in 8 years of owning the frig.

GE stopped making this part even though the fridge is only 7 years old. I was happy to find it on amazon. It works perfectly and was easy to install.
