How do you wash these gloves?

Hand wash. Mild soap in warm water. I use Castile soap. But any gentle soap will work. Lay washed gloves on dry towel to air dry

Do these have friction material in the palms?

No. It is a simple silk liner. I use mine as a liner for my kayaking gloves. It provides additional warmth as well as wicking away moisture. If you want to use it a a stand alone glove, you will probably be disappointed.

For a man who wears a sz medium glove, what size liner would I need?

A liner would be sized the same as a regular glove .
