🎉 Shape Your Learning Experience!
Product Description This folding geometric shape set transforms abstract mathematical concepts into tangible learning experiences for students ages 7 and up. The ingenious design features eight essential 3D shapes—a cylinder, square pyramid, cube, rectangular prism, cone, hexagonal prism, and two triangular pyramids—each crafted with a unique folding mechanism that allows them to collapse into their flat net patterns. This transformative feature creates powerful "aha moments" as children visualize the direct relationship between 2D and 3D forms. Teachers and parents alike praise how these manipulatives make complex geometric principles accessible and engaging. Students can physically explore symmetry by examining how shapes fold along their lines of symmetry. The transparent outer shells paired with colorful inner nets provide perfect visual contrast when calculating perimeter, area, and surface area. For volume lessons, the hollow shapes can be filled with water or other materials, demonstrating comparative volume relationships (like how a pyramid occupies 1/3 the volume of a corresponding prism). Beyond basic measurements, these shapes encourage deeper mathematical thinking. Children naturally begin to identify properties of different solids, analyze how faces, edges, and vertices connect, and develop spatial reasoning skills as they compose and decompose the 3D forms. From the Manufacturer The innovative folding geometric shape set is perfect for hands-on lessons in symmetry, perimeter, area, surface area and volume. Each three-inch shape folds flat, allowing for illustration of a three-dimensional shape's two-dimensional properties. Set of 16 pieces includes red, yellow, green and blue cylinder, square pyramid, cube, rectangular prism, cone, hexagonal prism, triangular pyramid and triangular prism, and clear plastic casings.

3rd grade
This is perfect for teaching geometric nets of shapes - a 3rd grade standard. It also is great for showing the shape of the base to determine if it's a square pyramid or triangular pyramid, etc. Great tool for teachers.

As expected
What I expected. Good for classroom use when teaching nets and polygons.

wonderful
A learning tool that helped my 10 year old and my 18 year old. This is a great product that that can be used to teach several math concepts and illustrates so learning is easier. Very glad I ordered.

Outstanding hands-on and visual presentation
I purchased this more in dire need than as my typical "research the heck out of it". I was not disappointed.Pros: Beautiful, clear geometric shapes with the folding nets that store inside. Excellent visual for a whole class: the triangular prism fits perfectly within the cube, and three of the square pyramids filled with rice filled the cube. The next day the students (7th grade) were still talking about it.Cons: The removable plastic "lids" (bases?) tend to pop off, and some of the nets are already trying to break the bounds of their respective 3-D shapes. The 8 cm side of the cube measures the same as the triangular prism and square pyramid - on the OUTSIDE. This is NOT helpful when you try to put 512 centimeter cubes within the 8 cm cube - they don't fit. It was kind of a bummer not to be able to show that part of concept.Overall: I'm going to buy more of these so teams of students can use them. Even with the short-comings, these geometric shapes are the best I've found.

Hands On!
I really love this resource for teaching geometry and nets. My only complaint is that it is so pricey that I could only get one set for all my students. As a result, we have to use them in small groups or centers. The shapes are well made and help those students that are struggling to visualize when it comes to 3-D shapes.

Folding Geometric Shapes
I love this product! Great for use in my kindergarten classroom to teach about 3-d shapes, and which flat shapes they are made up of. The one downfall--the pieces fit inside of each other, and the inside piece tends to get stuck and difficult to pull apart.

Great for homeschool math
These shapes are sturdy enough for home schooling or tutoring. I am not sure they would handle class room abuse. I used a sharpie to draw on the clear shape to show the layers for calculating volume. I had the students fll the large cube and pour them into the pyramid with the matching face and it shows perfectly how the volume od a pyramid is 1/3 of the cube. So much better then flat shapes in a book.....

Pieces don't stay together
I thought I was going to really like these teaching shapes, and my students did enjoy them, but the cover won't stay on the cone. We have to keep it taped on there or the bottom comes off and the insert falls out.
