Since my kids lost the original remote, this inexpensive replacement worked perfectly right out of the box, no setup required. Just make sure you are getting for the right model TV, etc.

has all the buttons and functions of my original remote. just seems not made as well as the original. i never had to worry about anything getting in the way of the reomote with the original, but every once in a while it seems something in front of my tv gets in the way of the remote now.oh, and all of the buttons lite up( most very dimmly) on the oem remote, whereas only the button that turns the light on and the chanel up and down( 3 ) do on the rep[lacement remote

I bought these for a 3D Samsung set, knowing they claim to be for the 2D sets. Fortunately while not having a 3D button, these do have a menu button, and 3D can be enabled or disabled via the menu. As we rarely use 3D, these remotes satisfied our need for a spare.The use and function is identical to a Samsung 2D TV remote for any late model (2012-2014) smart TV.

It works well as a generic Samsung TV remote but it did not work well with the UN40F5500. Some of the functions just did not work.

While this Chinese unit isn’t a Samsung product, it seems to work adequately as a replacement remote for my Samsung UN55F6350 Smart TV.Its wise to have a spare remote for a TV with no manual controls. I expect this to help share the hard use the original remote’s arrow keys get working the TV’s web browser. Unlike other remotes I’ve tried, this one can activate the browser, as well as control the TV’s other functions. (FWIW The “Amazon” and “Netflix” keys do nothing on my TV)This one came in a plastic sleeve with no instructions at all, much less how to program it for a STB. The backlight illuminates the volume and channel keys only. The keys seem less substantial than the OEM Samsung remote, it seems of a lower overall quality.I gave this unit 2 stars because, while all the other keys work fine, the arrow keys work like they’re nearly worn out ! For instance, sometimes the up-arrow key works fine. Other times I have to press it 5 or 6 times to register one press, or else press it very firmly. The right and left arrow keys have similar problems.The above defect is unacceptable. I’ve requested a replacement rather than a refund because IMO a fully-functional spare is worth this price. Will update this review after the replacement arrives (due 8/20/15)****************************************************************************************************************************************Update 10/27/15Received replacement unit in good order. Still works after 6 weeks. Complaints about overall quality and spongy keys still apply.Am upping my rating from two to 3 stars -- Its reasonably priced, works, and is adequate as a spare.
