I took a chance even though the reviews were so good, and bought it for my husband. It was a waste. It didn't work with our Samsung phones. Don't bother!

Why, why, why? Let's Go over some problems.Not accurate. Limited list of materials.Several clicks to get to even most basic functions.Doesn't work without the phone app.Doesn't work without first activating it against an internet account.Only works on one phone; you can't share it with somebody else.The app is riddled with security and privacy concerns:The app opens a connection to the internet, whether you want it to or not.It wants to know where you are so it accesses your phone's location finder.It can activate the microphone and listen to you.I don't want a tool that spies on me, reports and sends its data to who knows where, and nobody else can use it.I got this at Home Depot today. It was the only moisture meter on the shelf despite the website having nearly a dozen products, which would take upwards of three weeks to ship, notify me, and pick up. I got it home and I was hating it within minutes.Why would anyone take a simple tool like a moisture meter and make it clumsy, inefficient, difficult to use, and just outright suspicious?

could not get it to work with Samsung tablet

Product packaging is ridiculous to open. I have a newer galaxy s7 and the device would not work. I called the number on the packet and they told me that the software currently does not work with my model phone?! Only older phones according to the guy on the phone.

I feel with a name like ryobi that the app would be better and not have as many problems
