The best complete Shakespeare . . . if you're cool with no footnotes.
If you want footnotes in a complete edition, then the Riverside is your best bet. Some of the editing decisions of the Norton complete works are strange, to say the least. I have only glanced at the Bevington, but it comes highly recommended. Nevertheless, if you're comfortable approaching Shakespeare without footnotes, then this is your edition. I don't fault a reader for wanting a comprehensive critical apparatus for Shakespeare. For the longest time, I was timid about using anything less than Riverside or a Folger edition. If such is the case for you, then take heed of the reviews on this product. If, however, you think that you might be ready for Shakespeare stripped of editorial interference, then buy this book without hesitation.

A worthy complete works for the price
It is a very good complete works and has everything you'd need if you just wanted to read the plays. However, it lacks footnotes and some of the editing is strange. The glossary is paltry at best, but at least it gives clarifications. The text is aligned in a way that is easy to distinguish between verse and prose, so if you are casually taking a Shakespeare class where you're utilizing scansion, it will be helpful. However, the avid Shakespeare enthusiast should splurge and order a Riverside or Bevington.

Great
Delivery was wonderfully swift! So far this edition of Complete Works meets all of my needs. It's obviously heavy to carry back & forth to class, but it's great to have everything in hand. The typeset is small of course, but not ridiculous (which was my fear). I only need a magnifier if I'm reading while really tired. One should be aware, there are no notes to this complete works, but the Arden single plays are heavily notated. If I need/want the extra notes, I generally pick up a copy from the library.

This is the Shakespeare collection to own...
Arden commentary adds so much to the reading of any play by Shakespeare, so I was thrilled to find this collection at a great price. If you are beginning to study more of Shakespeare as a writer, and have already read several plays or sonnets separately, a full collection with the great dramaturgy of Arden is the perfect way to more deeply explore interpretation, the world of Shakespeare's time, and how these amazing works are still pertinent today.

This book is good for it's comprehensive collection
This book is good for it's comprehensive collection... but the intros and information from the author were boring and unnecessary (in my case, unhelpful). It was perfect for my Shakespeare focused college literature course. The organization was very nice, and it's easier to read and analyze than online copies of the works.

none of the notes are included..
THE reason I got the Arden version was for the notes. But this version, on purpose, did not have any of the notes included. It is sill a perfect version of the works, just not as "complete" as I was hoping for.

Book is good quality. However
Book is good quality. However, references are m poorly placed at back of book. I prefer the Bevington Complete Works of Shakespeare.

So easy to read and find the plays.
All, pretty well all, that are now attributed. Clearly printed out (Kindle Edition) with an electronic index that works. There is only one general introduction to each play. The footnotes are not included. If you want footnotes you have to get the relevant single Arden Editions. They don't cost the earth on Kindle. I love this edition, it is so easy to find and read the plays. My complete Oxford edition (also Kindle) had blurred print.

Perfect for me
Perfect for me. No notes so you will have to have an OED handy to do your own background notes. I prefer this than being spoon fed by someone else who I may disagree with.

An updated masterpiece
Here we have the basics - the canon, plus "Double Falsehood". Not only is this an excellent edition of the plays, but it is good to know that research is ongoing and that every effort has been put into making this edition the best it can possibly be. Brief introductions are given for each play, though these are much more comprehensive in the individual editions. Once more, it is good to know that these introductions are written by top scholars and that the play texts are the result of their extensive research.

Bought for a gift
I bought this for my daughter who is studying drama and she said it is a very helpful book and gives her further knowledge in this area. The book was bought second hand as the new price is very expensive. The second hand copy was in good condition and just had a few annotations made by the previous owner - other than that was perfect. I would suggest any budding drama student go for the second hand option.

Very Good Complete collection
A Complete collection that works, the blank verse passages are aptly formatted. Font size is readable and more than 1300 words of glossary - makes a perfect companion for me to learn Shakespeare
