MAKE SURE YOU READ THE DETAILS
So I went through a trial and error when buying this product. At first, I bought this item in "good condition". It came with many scratches on the top of the case and had some minor screen damage. It was still playable and did the job fine. I tried to live it but couldn't due to me liking my collectibles in pristine condition, so I returned it. Just know that if you buy "good condition", you will receive damaged but playable products. After getting my refund, I decided to buy "like new". It arrived within a week and was in great condition. No scratches or damage anywhere. The only problem was that it was the "AGS-001" model. The 001 was not bright at all and I could barely see the screen. Of course this was not the fault of the seller because they listed the model number in the details section and I just missed it. If you want a good game playing experience, I would get the 101 model. This is what I bought after returning the older model. I purchased from Amazing Inc., it came really fast, and was in pretty much perfect condition. No scratches, damages, came with a charger, and they even included a screen protector. I paid a bit more, but I am very satisfied with this purchase. Just make sure you know what you want and an extra $50 goes a long way in terms of quality.

Works & Looks better than the one I had asa kid
Worked Great and was in decent shape considering this is an original GBA SP. A couple scratches, 100x better than mine looked as a kid. This one was taken care of well or hardly ever used. Might have found a better deal elsewhere, but am happy with the purchase and the fact that it was Prime delivery.

Amazing little console, decent price
The console came in such amazing condition, tbh I thought it was an actual new and untouched console. It did have a few scratches but they were barely visible. I bought this console for reason, and that’s to mod it and customize it. First image has the original version, other images are of the console after I swapped the shell. Amazing console, worth the price (sorta). Yeah you can find cheaper on eBay and offer up or any other second hand market, but for 110$ it was a decent price for it. Sadly for the 110$ price tag you would expect the AGS model 101 instead of the 001 version, which is the only downside. Besides that, genuinely worth the price! (If u can’t find it anywhere else)

Works as intended.
I got this thinking it was a replacement for the one I got for christmas. Turns out, what I got from my cousin this past christmas, was a GameBox. Read the details, and look for sites that sell that sort of stuff online. There are places that sell that kind of stuff as legitimately as possible online, so don't lose home. As for this specific product, its gold, simply gold. I love it. I have a few Game Boy Advance, and other old school games, that I play on this thing. The Game Box is great, but having the legitimate version is good too. If anything else, for reliability and durability of legitimate products that other questionable stuff just may not have. I am gonna get the Pokemon: Red rescue team game just to use on here, since the GambeBox, well, it plays that game, but can't save on it. Granted, I'm old enough to be from the gamer generations that played games like that, and left them idling/afk while we had other real life responsibilities to do, then come back and continue to play the game we were doing before responsibilies called. With that said, this, the legitimate version, works well. I just hope after hard grinding on some games, that it doesn't break down on me. I tend to be the kind of guy that works a system to its limit, just through legitimate/standard means. Like for the GameBox, on the Pokemon red version, after my Golbat evolved from a Zubat, one or two levels later, that I leveled up in the same area, during the same game play time frame of 6 hours, Golbat went into evolution stage again, and I got the "Ash:??" response when nothing happened after the initial light show before the Pokemon goes white while evolving. So, yeah, with that said, I always look for a stable, reliable, long lasting, products. I look for things that can last a long, long time, cause I intend to have things, for a long, long time. To conclude this review, I will say that the legitimate Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP, works as intended. I look forward to buying legitimate versions of games to play on it for years to come. Now to find a good price and seller on a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. P.S.: This is besides the point, but I thought I should include it here. The review box, it doesn't allow the upper arrow key to be reconized. I tried on other sites and it works there, so it isn't my system or keyboard. If anyone else see's this issue, about the up arrow key, not working on the review details box, please inform Amazon about this. Might be a bug they care to fix. Its a weird bug. It sometimes works, and other times, it doesn't. Please, someone look into this.

Good if you get the right model, disappointing if you don't
The Game Boy Advance SP comes in two models. One of the models is numbered AGS-001, and then there was a model a few years later with the number AGS-101 (You can easily tell what model SP you received/already had is by looking at the top left of the factory sticker). The latter is more sought-after because it has a backlit screen, unlike the AGS-001 that had a frontlit screen. Most people know this but I bring it up because the unit I bought on this page didn't match the unit I was sent. This review will have two parts. A review of the backlit model I have handled in the past and a review of the model I was sent. AGS-101 (The one I was told I bought): Most people would agree this is the best handheld of the Game Boy lineup, if not best handheld ever made. It plays all three generations of the Game Boy games and has the best screen of all the Game Boys. It is bright, it is clear, and the brightness is even adjustable so you can turn it up in the sunlight or turn it down so you don't blind yourself in a dark room. Also the clamshell design not only looks great but also protects the screen from fingerprints and scratches when not in use. It will stand the test of time if you treat it with respect. If you can find one of these and you like GB/GBC/GBA games, buy this system. Five stars, 10/10, amazing. AGS-001 (The GBA I received in the mail): This system is basically the same as the one described above. Great system, great games, looks beautiful, comes in a variety of colors, quality build, etc. The drawback to this system is mainly the screen, which is frontlit instead of backlit. Meaning the colors aren't as bright, the graphics aren't as clear, and it is much dimmer. Also the light only has two settings, on or off. Still very playable but you will have trouble seeing some things in the game, especially if you've gotten spoiled by the quality of the screens on the DS Lite and Game Boy Micro (Both have screen very similar is brightness and clarity to the AGS-101). The screen needs to bee lookied at in a certain angle otherwise the light reflects off the screen giving it a weird "trapezoid-effect" that is very distracting. Also, Along with being sent the wrong model SP, I wasn't even sent the right color. The AGS-001 doesn't come in Graphite, so you might think I got on Onyx model instead, maybe just a mistake made in packaging as those colors are similar. Nope, I got sent the Flame color. Not similar in the slightest. The unit I received is functional at least. Plays games perfectly, only cosmetic scratches on the outside plastic, screen is as perfect as it can be, buttons are clicky, basically no issues aside from the wrong color and model. Which is a shame as this was going to be a Christmas present for somebody I thought would like an upgrade from the AGS-001 she already had. Most of this seemed nitpicky, I know, and I agree. But that's simply because better screens have been implemented these days and for the same price you can get those better screens without those nitpicky drawbacks. To sum it up, if you buy this and get the unit shown, you will be nearly 100% satisfied (As much as you can be from a system around 10 years old). If you're like me and get the slightly inferior model, you will still be satisfied but you'll most likely play your Game Boy Advance games on a DS Lite or Game Boy Micro you can pick up around the same price nowadays if you don't already own one. Both system I would recommend more than an AGS-001 if you mainly have more GBA games. But if you can track down a AGS-101 that will be your best option as you can get other GB or GBC games like Link's Awakening DX or Pokemon Blue to play on it as well as your GBA library.

Pearl Blue GBA SP AGS-101
I recently bought a Pearl Blue GBA SP a few months ago. It arrived in a few days and it was in good condition and even included a charger. This is only one of three GBA SP's AGS-101 models with 2 brightness settings. The 3 colors are Pearl Blue, Pearl Pink, and Graphite(Dark Grey). Make sure when you buy one to ask the seller if it's the AGS-101 model and if it comes with a charger. These GBA SP's AGS-101 models are easy to find on Amazon.com and come in a wide vareity of colors and models. The GBA SP AGS 001 has only one brightness setting and are less desirable than the AGS-101 model. These consoles are made well and are durable, you can fit these in your pocket! There are people that obviously neglect their GBA SP's by dropping them on the ground, slam it shut, place them outside, and just don't take good care of their GBA's. I was fortunate to have received one from a seller whose previous owner took good care of it. The GBA SP can play GBA games, there so many great games to choose from. The GBA SP uses a lithium ion battery that charges in 2 hrs and can last up to 10hrs+ depending on the brightness setting. One downside to the GBA SP is that there's no headphone jack, but you can buy an adapter on Amazon that will work nicely. If you're looking to buy one of these, be sure to ask the seller questions. Ask them if it's the AGS-101 model, condition, do all the buttons work good, back-light works well, battery holds a charge. If the seller does not provide accurate info, look for another honest seller that will be happy to answer your questions. Don't be in a hurry to buy a GBA SP, shop around and get the best deal you can. I've noticed recently, the GBA SP's are somewhat in high demand, people want to play their old GB , GBC, and GBA games from their childhood. There are good prices on Amazon, you just have to know what you're looking for and proceed with caution.
