Dog Barrier for SUV by PawPrince

I have two husky-malamute mixes. One weighs in at 75 pounds and is very pushy and stubborn when it comes to car rides, and the other is 120 pounds but very calm. This barrier didn't survive the first car ride (as far as staying in place). It's VERY difficult to get the tension to be tough enough in our Ford Escape because our 75 pound dog is able to push his head between the bars and get leverage to jerk the whole thing out of place.HOWEVER - there was an easy for fix that has now made this a great barrier that we can't live without. We added bungie cords to secure the poles in place, both vertically and against the head rests of our back seats (around the metal parts under the head cushion themselves). This successfully stumped our escape artist, and has led to perfect and peaceful car rides.Yes, it works, but it was also very difficult to put together and failed in the first go before we found our own fix. I'd say to anyone getting this barrier - if you have big dogs, expect to need some secondary measures. For smaller dogs who are less insistent on getting out, I bet this would be perfect.

This is one of those things that I never thought that I needed until I got it. My dog is very used to riding in the seats with us. He uses a seat belt normally. However, when the car is full of people, he has to sit in the back. He then tried to get into someones lap at every stop. Not the best with a 75 lb dog. This keeps him back there quite easily and he just goes to sleep. It's cumbersome, but not so cumbersome that it's not worth using. I keep it in the garage when we aren't using it. I provided a review in exchange for a discount on the product.

We travel quite a bit and always take our pets. I set the back of the my SUV up with beds and kibble and drinks then spend the trip listening to my husband constantly tell them to get back. Now that we have the barrier they HAVE to stay in the back and traveling is much safer for all of us. Light weight, sturdy and easy to install. A must have for traveling with petsI received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
