Bush Business Furniture Series C 36W 5 Shelf Bookcase with Doors in Mahogany

Just as promised. Holds all my notebooks & papers @ work.

Overall solid piece of furniture. Looks nice and looking forward to filling it up with some of my favorite books.

Instructions were easy. Good workmanship. Great product.

Specs say max weight 50lbs. Even with no books in the middle of the shelves, they have sagged in middle after 3 months. The solution is so simple, but apparently, Bush furniture is dedicated to poorly designed furniture. For each shelf cut a 1 x 4 and place it between shelves. I used 2x4 on the bottom since I doors. This works because the bottom shelf ( bottom of the bookcase) sits on the floor and so is supported. The bookcase is too wide for shelves that are not supported. The center of each shelf sagged by 1/4 on every shelf on two bookcases.

Easy to put together. Nailing the back onto it is awkward. Attaching (and adjusting) the doors is a challenge. But overall, it looks nice and acceptable for what it is. I also have a full office of this brand and style and when carefully moving it from one room to the other was a major challenge - this stuff is heavy and fragile when you move it. I think this may be overpriced for what you get. But the price is comparable to other brands and product might be better than others. Vague I know... I'm judging by experience. If you are mechanically competent and/or good with tools and if you take your time and are patient, this is a decent purchase.

Looks nice but unstable and flimsy. I and considering adding side braces to make it stronger. If I knew before assembling I would have applied glue. I am contemplating returning it.
