Look good work well
Ive had mine for two seasons now and still work fine. Look good while keeping bugs away!

I don't know how well it kills, but it is really pretty and handles salt air
I see residue when pulling out the tray, but I don't know if it is actually getting mosquitos or just small moths, but for the price, I would use it for the lighting alone. I have had this for over 3 months in a salt air environment. I do not shelter it or take it in for rain or "normal" wind, and they are functioning well still. I had one late night where I thought I was going to have to say differently because the light was acting "weird" and finally stopped working around midnight even when I alternated on/off. But I had forgotten that it had been a particularly dark and stormy week, and the next evening after recharging it was back to it's happy glow. The UV light blends nicely with the flame effect to give it the "gas lit" torch look.

Meh . . . A good idea but poorly executed.
**update** one of the two I purchased doesn't work after an hour. I've only owned them three months. Losing yet another star. So much for that... Works on moths, not mosquitoes or flys. We don't have a lot of moths, not compared to the number of mosquitoes or flies. Battery life is an issue. After charging all day in the hot Texas sun, they don't last more than a couple of hours. I'd like to see them last through the night. One last thing, it looks like it's designed so that it's either getting light from the solar panel, or it turns itself on. At first you think it's an ingenious solution; you either get light to charge the battery or you power up the device but this is actually a problem. If you have these in an outdoor setting where you have a porch light, it'll see the light and not turn on, it'll think it's time to be charging. I had to take little scraps of plywood to cover up the solar panel so they would work when I'm trying to enjoy my backyard.

Stylish Bug Zapper with Great Ambiance
The PIC Solar Insect Killer Torch (DFST) is a fantastic blend of style and function for outdoor spaces. Its flickering LED flame effect creates a warm, tiki-torch-like glow, perfect for patio ambiance, while the zapper effectively takes out bugs. The solar-powered design is eco-friendly, charging in sunlight and lasting up to 6 hours at night in our yard Pros: • Realistic flame effect • Solar-powered, eco-friendly, and cord-free • Adjustable heights for flexible placement Cons: • Pole is flimsy and doesn’t stand straight when fully extended • Bug tray is small and can be tricky to clean

Worth the money!
These are great quality and work very well. A beautiful addition around my patio. Also keeps bugs, etc. down. Solar power is definitely a plus!

Nice lamp, not great zapper
The torch looks realistic and pretty to look at when it comes on at night. The solar panel charge lasts much of the night. I really like that no wiring is needed and it can be placed anywhere. The pole is flimsy and the bottom prong can break in strong wind, but it also comes with a table-top mount and that is more useful. As a bug zapper it is not great. It does work, but only until it has enough bugs to short-out the circuit and you don't really know when that happened without close inspection. The grid has to be cleaned to restore service and that requires lots of brushing or compressed air. Can of air works well, but it gets costly. The grid voltage is relatively low for a bug zapper and does not cause a loud popping sound when bugs get zapped. The bug tray is too small and also difficult to pull out. So, not great as a bug zapper but a really nice torch lamp. Kind of expensive only as a lamp, though. Update: Stopped working completely after a couple of months. Apparently the switch is not weatherproof. Started working again after replacing the switch with a better one.

Great for ambience lighting - NOT for any type of bug control
I purchased one from Lowe’s and like most reviews state, they look great! 2-stars is strictly for the great look. If they were marketed as ambient lighting for backyard and “may” attract a bug, may not, then I would rate it better. I think a $20-25 price point would be reasonable for this item Vs the $39.99 they charge, I find that very steep for the quality of the item. Needless to say, when I was at Lowe’s Hardware, they only had 1 left in stock, so I ordered two here hoping that having three would assist with the bugs in our backyard since they say 1/2 acre per device protection. Sadly, I received them today and it was obvious I was sent previously returned items. There wasn’t the table stand piece in either box that they say are included and one box the lantern was covered and the other was uncovered and scratched. Along with the items were all free flowing in the boxes without any stability within the boxes. Quite disappointing. I then realized when I took one of them to my backyard to compare to my in-store purchase; the amazon lanterns are about a foot shorter when utilizing all posts and the post isn’t as sturdy as the solid one-piece from in-store. I cannot speak on the bug zapping ability to the two I got here on Amazon, as I am returning these the same day received. I can say the one I bought in-store I have now had for 3-days and there isn’t one bug on the tray at all, and there are plenty to “zap/attract”. Yes it’s placed away from any other lights, yes it’s the brightest light to attract bugs and NO it still hasn’t done any bug control. I don’t recommend purchasing for bug control, but if you want ambience and enjoy the flickering tiki torch look, these are great for that.

This is a beautiful light up torch but doesn’t attract bugs. Not with it. We bought 2 more just for decoration. Find other light to use

They add ambience to my patio after dark and I haven't seen a mosquito. Great product for the price.

I wish there was a option to turn on during daylight hours.

You can't tell when it is charging nor can you tell when it is on or not. I got it to work one night, but since then it has not charged or turned on. Too bad it's past the return time.

The solar panel feature is nice but it doesn't come on automatically at sundown most of the time (have to press a button) and it does not attract or kill many bugs. I am unimpressed.
