Bang-Mother/Bow to the King

Great hard rock.I own the Mother/Bow To The King On vinyl.Still looking for the self titled 1st LP.Getting impossible to find.So having the CD is much better than nothing.Plus you get both here.

I didn't receive what is pictured. Didn't get what I wanted, but it's pretty good music, anyway. The right band, but the wrong cd.

This cd is just as I remember the group I have the vinyl album. Now I can play lions and Christians where ever I go. Proud to be loud in Atlanta.

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE REMEMBER THIS BAND OR HAVEN'T HEARD OF THEM BUT IF YOU WERE A PROTO "METALHEAD" IN THE EARLY SEVENTIES THEN YOU PROBABLY GOT HIGH AND GROOVED TO THESE GUYS AND OTHERS LIKE CAPTAIN BEYOND, URSA MAJOR, TRAPEZE,JO JO GUNNE ETC....NOW WITH THIS "2 ON 1" CD REISSUE YOU CAN HAVE THEIR BEST MUSIC ON 1 CD AND LISTEN TO IT UNINTERRUPTED WITHOUT THE HASSLE OF FLIPPING THE LP OVER OR CHANGING THE RECORD.HOW TO DESCRIBE THE MUSIC? SORT OF BLACK SABBATHY BUT A LITTLE LIGHTER AND MORE MELODIC.I LIKE ALL THE TUNES ON BOTH OF THESE ALBUMS BUT MY FAVORITES ARE "MOTHER" FROM THE SECOND ALBUM AND "THE QUEEN" FROM THE FIRST.I NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO SEE THESE GUYS IN CONCERT BUT A FRIEND OF MINE DID AND SAID THEY PRETTY MUCH BLEW THE HEADLINERS OFF THE STAGE.THEIR THIRD OFFICIAL RELEASE "MUSIC" PRETTY MUCH SUCKED IN MY OPINION AND I NEVER HEARD THEIR FIRST[UNRELEASED] ALBUM SO I CAN'T COMMENT ON IT BUT OTHER LISTENERS HAVE GIVEN IT 4-5 STAR REVIEWS[SEE 2 IN 1 CD "MUSIC" AND "DEATH OF A COUNTRY"]. THE BAND HAS GOTTEN BACK TOGETHER A TIME OR TWO OVER THE YEARS AND RELEASED A CD ENTITLED "THE MAZE" WHICH IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND.[IF ANYONE HAS A COPY THEY WANT TO SELL LET ME KNOW]. SOUND QUALITY ON "BANG/MOTHER-BOW TO THE KING" IS ACCEPTABLE BUT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE IT WAS DIGITALLY REMASTERED OR TAKEN FROM MASTER TAPES...MORE LIKELY A CLEAN RECORDING OF THE ORIGINAL LPS.NONETHELESS A REAL TREAT TO HERE BOTH OF THESE ALBUMS AGAIN UNINTERRUPTED...BRINGS BACK A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES.....

by far one of the most forgotten bands of the early 70's. the riffs are numbing the back beats are driven deep and hard . BUT DO NOT BUY THE CD HERE IT COST ON 15.00 ON THE BAND SITE.

I had copies of this music on LP since it was released, finally bought this double cd and it is really good early on 3 piece music. It has really good songs & great solos. I hope music fans bet to listen to this music.

Imagine if Black Sabbath had more emphasis on vocal melodies with just a small hint of the dark side, and maybe even a slight musical approach similar to Sweet or KISS with a more straight-forward style, and that's sort of what this Bang album is like (or rather, two albums on one disc). You just get the feeling this band was supposed to be bigger than they turned out to be.
