Perfect if you don't want to browse the internet
I had a Palm 700P for several years and loved it but it was getting a bit beaten up so when time came to replace it I got an Android phone - that was a mistake - it was large in the hand, I discovered I had very little use for e-mail and browsing the internet AND all of the apps like contacts, scheduler, memo etc were nowhere near as mature as those on the Palm Treo - SO I then got the Palm 755P Treo - all the apps suit me perfectly without having to go to an App market and are fully developed and mature. It is smaller than the current smart phones and the sound does not sound tinny. The applications features that I like are:Contacts - able to categorize them, many fields to save information into, contacts sorted by last name but can also find a contact on the list by typing in either the first or last name. Able to enter birthday which is integrated into the schedule (reminder application) to remind you when the birthday comes around - can also enter a lead time to give you a week or more warning of upcoming birthday. Able to enter Anniversary - also integrated into the Schedule (reminder) application.Schedule - integrated into the Contacts application. Audible warning with adjustable lead time. View by day, week, month, year. can find schedule (reminder) items by the search function search by key word or string of characters.Bluetooth - linked to carMemos - can categorize, can find memos by the search function search by key word or string of characters.World clockTasks - can find tasks by the search function search by key word or string of characters.Phone - can enter many quick call names. Call log informs how many ordinary or roaming minutes have been used since last reset.Calculator - simple calculator keyboard and also several different keyboards for scientific calculations and also many direct unit conversions.Messaging - very easy to useCamera and VideoVoice memoConnect to the web if desired - not mandatory as it is with all the new phones - saves $sAbility to secure individual memos and other records so that password is requiredHot synch all data to a desktop or laptop or notebook for backupI would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs productivity over entertainment.

love my phone!
My husband go a Treo 700 years ago and lives and dies by it. My ancient cell phone (circa 1997) finally had to be put out to pasture, and I figured I'd follow his lead. Took a while to find this one set up for verizon, but I've been using it for several months now, and am very happy with all the features. I thought my fingers would be too chubby for the little keys, but they work fine. I also found that with a little program called minitones, I could turn any mp3 to a ring tone for this phone. Now I have bird calls annoucning my phone calls -)

Refurbished Palm Treo
This Palm Treo arrived looking good and in good time. That said, the volume buttons at the side stopped working within a couple of weeks! Not happy! I wish I had known beforehand how convoluted navigating the Bleutooth options would be. Specifically adjusting call volume manually on the Treo and the inability to use voice commands to dial a call from the headset!

If it aint broke? Why upgrade?
As one of the last remaining pda phones that do not require you to get a data package from your phone carrier, finding a replacement was truly a life saver. As some of us not so saavy with the new high tech and choosing to just have a regular phone, this one is complete without the expense that would come with the more modern pda phones.

Great smartphone PDA, contacts list, calendar, outlook sync
This is one of the best semi-smart-phones out there if you don't need emails on yourphone (no Exchange sync) or Internet -- though it has a web browser and it isInternet capable if you want to shell out $30 monthly for the mobile carrierinternet plan. It's the best phone out there if you need to keep your mobilecosts down and like to backup your calendar and contacts/addresses to your PC orjust be able to switch phones seamlessly by using Outlook as your data conduitbetween the old phone and the new phone.I sync my Treo 755P with my Outlook (client), and I only use it for mycontacts/addresses and my calendar. The iPhone/iTunes combination costs you upward of $500 just for hardware, not including the mobile carrier extra $30 / month for the internet or dataplan. Add more money for Exchange sync fees if your Exchange account ishosted by your mobile carrier (i.e. Verizon Business Plan with Exchange)It's ridiculously expensive. The battery life on the iPhone is about 24 hrs.On the Treo, the phone will last for about 3 days before needing to bere-charged.The Treo 755P is about $50 on ebay or amazon, used or refurbished. You sync, and have all of your contacts and calendar on both your PC andyour Treo, that's it. Also, no need to pay for a Verizon Business planwith Exchange or internet, just get a basic Verizon phone account. With a Treo, you don't have the opportunity to waste time withfacebook, twitter, apps, games, etc. It's better than a non-smartphone old flip-phone because you can switch outphones (old->new) and still have a backup of your phone addresses and contactsin your Outlook and use your PC to sync back up with your new phone. It makes the transition from old to new phones seamless. With non-smartphone old flip-phones, you need to get transfer cables, usetheir PC software (if there is one) to save your contacts to an Excel fileon your computer and then re-import them into your new flip phone software syncprogram on your PC.Too much hassle. To many programs to install and uninstall. Some people just give up and manually enter data from one phone to another, thendo a factory reset on the old phone to wipe everything out once it has been movedto the new phone. The "apps" that come with the Palm OS Treo are more focused on getting work donerather than playing.I use voice and text memos as reminders. The mini full ASCII layout buttons keyboard on this phone is really great! It beats the iPhone display keyboard in my book.It has actual buttons! I love this!It also has a Bluetooth receiver built in if you need to use a Bluetoothfull-size keyboard. It has an IR receiver so you can beam and receive contacts and calendarentries with other phones. It allows you to SMS and text -- though, again, I don't text, I liketo handle conversations in person. To summarize, great phone, awesome Outlook sync, backup, contacts and calendartransfer, saves money on hardware and the monthly mobile plan, productivity apps, has real buttons keyboard, IR beam and receive, bluetooth, good battery life!Great phone for practical normal people who need to get work done!
