Easy to use--that's what I like
Since I'm in a review writing mood right now, I am doing one on this product as well. I got one of these stoves because a friend of mine uses one and sometimes two in her cooking demo classes. When I started to give cooking demo's now and then, too, I got one of these great little stoves. It's easy to transport, operate and seems quite dependable--has been for me now for a year, and seems to always have been for my friend as I've witnessed her using them in her classes for the past 5-6 yrs. I've only thought of using this item in the way I've described, but after reading the other reviews, now I've know of more ways it can be of service. It's really handy for my purpose and having it for emergency power outages seems great, also. Thanks to that reviewer! In regards to the other reviewers, I've never had problems having sticky black films on my pans after use. Don't know what that's all about. And I also would recommend the manufacturer let potential purchasers know what the fuel is that is needed and where to get it. I guess I can see why it wouldn't be safe to ship with the product itself with its contents under pressure. But I get my fuel cans at the local hardware store and they're only 2.99 ea. Easy peasy!

Met my expectations - and more
This stove did exactly what I expected it to and was completely trouble free. It started every time and heated food quickly. It has a cool case that won't let you shut the case with the butane canister locked in. If you try to put it in the case with the canister locked in the case flips it to unlocked and the case closes. My one little issue is that there is not much adjustment to the flame. It's either full on, or it's at minimum (which I found the most useful for the small pots I use). This is a great solo/two person camp stove for people who mostly make one pot meals or heat water for freeze dried foods, coffee, etc. One canister lasted me 7 days with light use, and I didn't reach the end of that one canister. It can be a little tricky to find the canisters of butane so order some with the stove or I found them at Big 5 Sporting Goods.

but it works fine and will serve well for a special dinner outside ...
I replaced an old one of these Max Burton Burners. It is now as heavy and seems a bit flimsy compared to the old one, but it works fine and will serve well for a special dinner outside or as an emergency burner. My kitchen was being remodeled and I used the old one every night.

FURIOUS WITH THIS PURCHASE!!!
I purchased this product hoping that I could take it out of the box and use itThey don't tell you that in order for this product to work you need to purchasesome sort of cartridges and I cannot find the cartridges on line. They should have had some sort of notice when they sell it, with some sort of optionto purchase and ENTIRE product so that you can take it out of the box and use it.I still don't know where to get the cartridges!I like to purchase products and be able to use them.

Igniter did not work ( returned unit )
Igniter did not work. There is a firing pin that is supposed to shoot the spark at the gas head. Taking the unit right out of the box and attempting to get the unit lighted, you could see a spark incorrectly firing where the unit was supposed to be grounded to the gas head. So the spark was never even close enough ( several inches away ) to be able to light the unit. Seems like this was just a defective ignition switch. Will try one more time with this product and update the review if the new unit does not have this issue.

Can we use any basic butane fuel container?
I bought this gas burner a few months ago and had not used it to properly rate this. So far, it is very compact and packs away very nicely.I am now starting to prepare for the hurricane season and need to buy some butane fuel canisters for the burner. The instructions say to use only Max Burton fuel canisters, but Amazon suggests other brands of butane to go with this product. I have not been able to find any Max Burton butane fuel canisters available in stores here. There seem to be other brands of butane fuel canisters available. Has anyone used "non" Max Burton fuel canisters with this burner? If so, did you encounter any problems with that?

Good Product
I was a little nervous about buying one of these and decided on this one. I love this product, I bought it to make Omelette's like they do in hotels. We have an electric cook top and I was gas for this. The product works great, the butane canisters last a long time and are cheap. More than enough heat, product is stable, easy to clean and I use it in my home all the time. No fumes or issues at all. I keep in my pantry and use it every time I need a burner. My wife is a clean freak and this product saves me from cleaning the glass top of our electric stove making it worth it weight in gold.

Great little cook stove
Purchased for use in van and truck when in remote areasPositive:Very light weight but extremely stableGood construction and carrying case adequate for frequent portable use, have jolted and jumbled it around traveling off road but not a single problem to dateGreat heat output and very precise heat control from very low to high settingEasy automatic lighting works every timeNegative: Have only found one local source for the Max Burton gas cans. Obviously it will work with other brand cans as it uses the standard size cans, but I am just anal about 'mix and match' when I know I will be a long distance away from 'civilization'Try it, its not expensive, you'll probably like it
