Ugly Stik Catfish Special Spinning Fishing Rod

As advertised

Had to come back a couple years later to write this. I bought this for catfish, but just reeled in a 30lb Black Drum with this rod. This thing is incredibly strong!!!!

You can't go wrong with an Ugly Stick. At least not yet. I have had a few of these and the only reason I need to replace them is my son and grandsons run off with them. They won't stand up to a truck door slam though. But I have had 35 lb. cats on them with 20 lb line and brought them in. I have had these rods doubled over on a troll snagged up good and wishing I had line that would break but didn't and neither did the rod. It dam near held the boat in fast current snagged up and all at the dam! For heavy cats and other big fish these are the ticket. I don't do much salt water but I wouldn't be surprised that in the right hands you could handle a Tuna or such with this rod,

The rod is great and feels solid, but I just don’t like how they basically put an open plastic bag on it with a shipping label, which I’m assuming caused that scuffing on the bottom and a couple of the guides to be bent. Oh well I guess, at least I can bend the guides back to shape and the bottom will get even more scuffed up on my fishing

Good for live bait and catfish

The media could not be loaded. Ordered this rod as a replacement for my other one that got snapped by a turtle. Shipping was quick and it was a fair price. I inspected the rod when it arrived and multiple eyelets were bent in different directions as well as the epoxy/glue being cracked on 4 different eyelets. I would assume this was an issue with shipping but could be just as likely poor quality manufacturing. Either way I'm going to try to use the rod as it is.
