Customizable Sound & Looks
I have the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro. This is the baby brother. The Custom One Pros are larger and cannot be folded, these ones are little smaller but foldable into smaller footprint. As you can see, I didn't wait to personalized mine. You can put anything flat on the side panels - from photographs to textile, even raw leather. You can put crumpled aluminum foil if you want too . You can also rotate the ear earpieaces when resting the headset on your neck. The included cord can either be plugged in on either left or right earpiece. You can also use your own custom cords. I have mine connected to a bluetooth reciever/amp. The adjustable mechanical bass switches on the sides actually works from completely lacking of bass on low settings to adequate bass on full. And I mean adequate - not head-banging bass even with adjusted equalizer settings on your player and bass boost. These are more like studio headphones which I like. When plugged into a phone, headphones seem not too loud enough but when using an amp, the volume can get much higher. At first I was disappointed with the bass until I realized that to get the best sound and bass is to have your ears completely inside the earpieces (including your earlobes) and have the ear pads completely envelope them with no leaks. Then the bass and sound will be utterly satisfying. I have Grado headphones, so I know the difference between open-back and closed. The Grados lacking on bass and require an amp for better bass. I use my Grados for Jazz, Classical, Classic Rock for that wide-open sound stage like being in a small concert hall or listening to big stereo speakers infront of you. This one is still great for the above genre plus Pop, Dance, Electronica and Hiphop for the bass and for the "music inside your head" atmosphere. One drawback though, I don't think Beyerdynamic sells any custom or replacement parts for this like the Custom One Pros - no replacement pads or the screwed side frames in a different color. Still, if you are looking for a wired headset, I would recommend this for video and content makers and music makers for its natural sound. Lastly, the Custom Street feels more comfortable than my Custom One Pros.

Great Portable Headphones
I bought these headphones for $100 when they were on sale for Amazon Prime Day. They were originally $150. I’ll break my review of these headphones into 5 categories: Sound, Features, Design, Comfort and Accessories.SOUNDBeyerdynamic is a company known for the clarity of their headphones. After using these headphones for about a month now, I gotta say these things sound NICE! Vocals are crystal clear and all instruments can easily be pinpointed. The only area I think they lack a little in is bass. Even with the custom sound slider set to heavy, I wish there was a little more, but that’s just my preference. I mainly listen to Pop, Alternative and Rock, so if you prefer other genres (like Classical for instance) the bass will be MORE than enough. It's really not that bad, I hope I don't turn you off because of this. I've just had previous headphones where it's been a little stronger.FEATURESOne of the main reasons I bought these headphones was for the adjustable bass switch (called the custom sound slider). I think it’s a really cool addition to the headphones, and it actually works! The switch has 3 settings: analytical (no bass, both bass ports closed), vibrant bass (1 port open) and heavy bass (both ports open). You may think the slider is just a gimmick, but it has some pretty valuable uses. For example, I use the analytical setting when listening to music before bed or taking a nap. Getting a break from the bass helps a lot when you’re trying to doze off. I mainly listen on vibrant or heavy bass though to get the most out of my music.Another great feature is the detachable cable. You can plug it into either cup depending on your preference and share your music through the other aux port! You can also make phone calls, which is cool (I guess). Never tried it.DESIGNThey’re called the “Custom” Streets for a reason. Just like their bigger brother, the over-ear Custom One Pros, everything on these headphones can be customized, with the most prominent customization being the side panels. The headphones come with about 16 different styles, as well as the default black “Custom Street” ones. I’m currently using the b&w BYR DYNAMIC ones and I think it looks pretty great. The manual also says you can replace the headband and ear cups if need be. I also think they look pretty sharp.COMFORTMy only gripe about these headphones unfortunately is the comfort. I expected these to be really comfortable for long listening, but it turned out not to be the case. In the first week that I had them they were way too tight on my head (and I don’t have a big head at all). I could only wear them for about 30 minutes before my ears ached. You can help fix this, however. Stretch the headphones over the carrying case that comes with them for a few nights and the clamping will be reduced.ACCESSORIESIn addition to the custom panels and an allen key, the headphones come with a very nice carrying case and about a 4 foot cable (great length for portability).Overall these headphones are an EXCELLENT buy for only $100! It’s hard to match Beyerdynamic’s quality, especially in this price range. If you’re in the search for some nice portable on-ear headphones, you’ve found your match!UPDATE (2/22/17): Decided to drop my rating to 4/5 due to the fact that comfort is still an ongoing issue. Stretching the headband helps, but honestly, they are still pretty damn tight. Will probably consider the over-ears for my next pair.

79 bucks for these? Are you kidding me - GRAB THEM and GRAB THEM NOW!!!
These are so good that I still can't believe they are only 79 bucks! For my Astell and Kern players AK Jr and AK70 they are a must, since AK players don't pair well with my other portables : Sennheiser Momentum On Ear and Momentum Over Ear 2.0 I like to tweak EQ on my portable players to achieve sound that suits my taste and with these you get Beyers own Bass Ports switch control, like on their bigger brother Custom Pro, so it is a lot quicker and easier to boost or "subdue" Bass on the go. Treble is nice and shiny and unlike on Audio Technica's ATH M50 and WS55 where sometimes it can become a little bit fatiguing, on these Beyers never cross that line. Midds are also very present and enjoyable. Built is German solid, means feels like tank and to be honest after Momentums which are just a bliss in comfort land , clamping force on these is a touch too strong and if you have gorilla head - be warned you might struggle to put them on. Padding on the top is sufficient and on the cups pads are think and perhaps touch too hard, but isolate external noise brilliantly. Momentums are my favourite portable headphones, but if you are big music fan and have a few portable music players, it is a big chance you will need a pair of these and if you get them, trust me you want go wrong, especially for the price .

Great Sound
Best build quality seen so far in Under 15K (Made in Germany). The accompanying audio cable is well built too. It comes with a premium Hard Case .As for the discomfort while using this headphone for long times: These are on-ear (not over the ear) headphone and the clamping force is high initially. However, the clamping force can be reduced by keeping it stretched for some time. With time and use the clamping force will reduce. I have adjusted to mine.

Pleased and would buy them again
I am not an audio expert and this is the first pair of headphones I bought that cost more than a few dollars. That said, I am quite pleased with my purchase. I can hear parts of music that I never heard before even in songs that I have listened to thousands of times. That makes it worth the price I paid. Other reviews talk about comfort and it is true that they hurt my ears after a while but I find that I just need to move them a little so they are not pressing on the same part of my ear and I am fine for another hour or so. I am very impressed with the nice case that comes with the headphones. They are a nice size and not too big to carry around. I would buy them again if they broke, but they seem to be built quite well so I am thinking I will get a few years out of them. I never used any of the custom disc covers but I guess it is a nice touch for anyone who wants to make them a little different. I usually listen in bass position 2 but sometimes for a change open the bass to position 3. Not a huge difference but it is noticeable.
