My wife was surprised and delighted to receive the  THE PEARL SOURCE 14K Gold AAA Quality 9-11mm Dark Tahitian South Sea Baroque Cultured Pearl Necklace for Women in 18" Princess Length  for her birthday. They complement the earrings I purchased from the Pearl Source a couple of years ago. There is slight natural variation among the color of the pearls, and that makes them interesting. She eventually noticed that one of the tiny seed pears used for linking each pearl to its neighbor was a little lighter in color than she wanted. The difference was slight, and many people might not have noticed. But she knew it was there. Even though that degree of variation is within the standard for the product, all it took was one phone call. They had us return the strand, repaired it and promptly shipped it back.When you pay several hundred dollars for a mail order gift, it's really important for me to know that the Pearl Source stands behind their products. I have purchased several gifts from the Pearl Source, and we have been satisfied each time.

I bought the 10-12mm version, and am amazed at the quality of these Tahitian South Sea pearls for such a very reasonable price. The picture shows pearls that have quite a lot of rings, as one might expect at this relatively low price, but the necklace I received had very few rings, and was altogether much higher quality than I expected. The pearls are indeed dark, with a gorgeous green-ish overtone, also with hints of multi-colour "petrol-ish" highlights. I couldn't be more delighted.I would have given it 5 stars, but only gave it 4 because of just one thing: they are NOT 18", they are at most 17.3". However, I already knew this was the case, since other reviews have stated that they are only 17", and I had decided to buy them anyway, hoping that I might be able to extend them to the desired 18" with a necklace extender. I'm sure many people would not mind them being a little shorter, especially if they were young, petite and small-framed.... ....but I am older, tall and large framed, so I really look much better in 18" than 16 or 17". Unfortunately the nature of the clasp (it is a BALL clasp, by the way, NOT the fish-hook clasp shown on the web-site) does not allow an extender to be used: it needs to be a traditional lobster claw clasp in order to use a necklace extender. Personally I don't like either ball or fish-hook clasps because of that problem: I prefer the traditional lobster claw clasp. However, the rings attaching the necklace to the ball clasp are sufficiently large (unlike many in necklaces that use these clasps) that I may be able to detach the ball clasp and attach a nice silver lobster claw clasp without having to re-string the necklace. So I may be able to fix it, but it's a very delicate job and a great nuisance having to do so...... .... But I can't really complain: I knew beforehand that the necklace was only 17" from the other reviews, and I knew it did not have a lobster claw clasp. Also, to be kind to the seller, it may be that the people who make the necklaces measure the necklace with the clasp unfastened: if one does this, the necklace is 17.6", since the length would then include the hook; but when you put it on, the hook is INSIDE the ball clasp, leaving the overall length at only 17.3" (which is great as a choker-like necklace for a young girl, but a more mature woman needs something that really is 18"). But don't be deterred from buying it: it's a SUPERB necklace, and the length is not unfixable.

The pearls are stunning and are very attractive. I would have given the rating 5 stars except for the clasp. Although the clasp is secure, it is somewhat difficult to insert the two pieces together. I hope that placing pressure on the male end into the other side of the clasp does not produce too much pressure on the string holding the pearls.

My daughter loves her necklace. She really wanted one and so for her birthday I bought her one. The size of the pearls are perfect. They are not too small or too big. The price was really good too.

We were in Tahiti a number of years ago and my wife bought a really beautiful black pearl which she had set in a family heirloom ring. When I found this pearl necklace and matching earrings, they matched her ring so well. It's a beautiful matched set; she loves them and everyone who sees them is impressed by the beauty of black pearls.

The necklace and earrings I ordered are exactly as described. The pearls are not perfectly round which is what I expected for such a fantastic price. My wife absolutely loves the fact that they aren’t perfectlet round and are so noticeably real. The customer service with this company is on point!! They were almost immediate to respond to any email questions and addressed my concerns very professionally! I highly recommend doing business with them.

My wife and I honeymooned in Tahiti 30 years ago and she could not have been happier to receive these pearls. I did a lot of comparison shopping and these were the best quality and value that I came across. The color and size of the pearls were perfect and the entire necklace is beautiful. It was packaged very nicely as well.Only one issue: the pearls came with a certificate for free pearl earrings. I have as of yet not received them.
