Very Nice & Bright Replacement Bulb For DeWalt DW918 14.4 Volt Flexible Light
I bought this LED upgrade to replace the light in my DeWalt DW918 14.4 Volt Flexible Light. Although the original put out a good deal of light, I just got tired of the yellow-colored light the original bulb put out.Replacing the old light bulb literally took all of 30 seconds. It took longer to cut the clear plastic retail case the replacement came in than to install it. The light appears to be in the 4100K or so range - quite white, and the beam seems more like a spotlight. Not much side light, but enough. The lumen output does seem to be better, but this may be due to it being a more white light.Bottom Line - I love it!!! Works better than I was expecting. So I get better lighting, and a longer run-time on each battery: what's not to like. Possibly a bit pricey, but it was money well spent, IMHO.

A HUGE Upgrade for any DEWALT Light
I purchased the DEWALT 18v XRP light as part of a cordless set.Personally I didn't see myself using the light for too many things and perhaps sitting in the bottom of my tool chest. This is not been the case since I added the this LED kit.The unit is a drop in replacement for the lens and bulb for any of the listed DEWALT lights.Pros:HUGE improvement in light output. Makes this now one of the most useful tools I own. SeriouslyENORMOUS run time. I've never seen it dim, let alone run out. This includes leaving it shining in my engine bay for an entire day (I had forgotten it was there).Great build quality. Equal to the rest of DEWALT's lineupCons; It is a tad pricey. But combined with the usefulness of the gooseneck light, it is not money I regret spending.

Works alright
The shipment of the LED Bulb arrived early like normal for a Amazon order. I am kind of dissappointed on how poorly this replacement bulb screws into place compared to the other one. It doesn't seem to get tight enough to stay on for a long period of time before it falls off the flashlight. Other wise the light works good an improves battery life by far comparison to the normal light. Another thing I noticed was just the center lights up on it and none of the outer rings light up.

Both died within 1 year.
Loved the bright light but both units I purchased died within a year. Trying two more...

Didn't fit my DEWALT DW908 18-Volt flashlight
Ok, so I can get it to stay on well enough to know that it works and it seems to be about as bright as the original bulb, though because it's a cooler white light it is effectively brighter to our eyes. The problem is that the internal diameter where the threads are on this thing are about 1mm to large to screw on tightly to my flashlight, a DW908, which is listed as compatible with this LED conversion. The slightest tap and it would fall off. You can understand why that isn't preferred on a work light. I haven't done any DIY fixes on it but I imagine it could be made tighter with a lot of teflon tape on the threads. Or I could wrap electrical tape around the outside. Or maybe a little hot glue, it isn't like I need to take this off again any time soon and it doesn't have a focus feature so there's no reason for it to be able to turn.To sum up, it should fit correctly and it doesn't and this is a quality control issue for DeWalt. I could return it and replace it with a new one but I'm pretty confident it would be exactly the same problem with all of them. I shouldn't have to be coming up with a DIY solution.

Well done update
Hello,Thought I'd put out a quick word if you are thinking about this product. First off, it's an engineered replacement and not just a retrofit LED bulb. The materials are stout and it fits well on my DW919. I didn't use the old rig much because it didn't last long between charges and it still burned out a bulb even with little use. This setup claims 3X the battery time and 10,000 hours before burning out, so we will see.The beam is a much more white color than the old one. It covers about 15% less area in total than the old one, but the area it does cover is much more refined and in focus compared to the somewhat blurry combinations on the old unit beam.(The lens on the old one is in fine shape so no influence there.) It looks like the new rig will project farther so you can back it up a little to cover the same area as an older unit. It's like an old style hand held flashlight compared to a new LED light which is pretty much what we are looking at here.

DEWALT DCL0900 Replacement LED - Perfect for use with DEWALT DW908 18-Volt Cordless Flashlight - Great for shop & garage use
A few years ago I purchased the DeWalt DW908 18-volt flashlight with a standard incandescent bulb. It was, and still is, a nice piece of equipment and great to have around the garage. Purchased it because I have five or six other DeWalt 18v tools and a couple batteries, and they are all outstanding quality. The only downside to that light was the weakness of the bulb; it was OK, but just not great, so I gave the original light a four star review ( DEWALT DW908 18-Volt NiCd Flashlight . Thanks to feedback from another Amazon user, I was pointed to this new DCL0900 LED 'bulb' replacement head for the old DW908, and decided to make the purchase.Am 100% glad that I bought this replacement unit; it is not just a 'bulb' as described in the title, it is an entirely new head that includes the LED bulb. You unscrew the original head from the DW908, lift the incandescent bulb out, and then screw on this entire replacement head in its place (being careful to make sure that the new LED bulb's stem goes down inside the spring inside the DW908's casing.I hand tightened the new head, turned the flashlight on, and was amazed by the improvement. Just like the original incandescent bulb, the beam is fairly tight (somewhat like a spot light in nature), but that is A-OK for the shop applications that I need it for. Would it be nice if the head offered a way to adjust the flood, like mag-lite goes? Yes, but I did not expect that given the nature of the original. This head works just fine and is an improvement over the incandescent unit.If you are looking to upgrade the bulb in your DeWalt DW908 18-volt Flashlight, even though this head may be priced close to what a bare DW908 light cost these days, give this LED replacement head a try and you will not be sorry that you did. Hey John -- thanks again for the recommendation.Go for it.

Bright
A very bright light that is a focused beam. As it is a LED it uses much less power and therefore lasts much longer than the original bulb that is supplied. Very easy to change.

Five Stars
Battery lasts a lot longer and I prefer the quality of the light.

Its ok
While the battery lasts much longer, this L.E.D bulb does not provide a nice spread of light. Its bright enough, but needs to be actually aimed at whatever you are looking at. The regular bulb has a better spread. This bulb has its uses, but for my use (Dark area looking at many wires) I prefer the regular bulb.

An excellent add-on to the DW919 flexible flashlight
Well worth the money. Visibility greatly improved. Rechargeable batteries run longer. An excellent add-on to the DW919 flexible flashlight.
