Holding up fine.
It’s been outside for 2 years now. Still looks good and everything is working fine, even the doorbell without any battery change. All the kids love it. Glad we got it.

High Quality and Great Size for Toddler
This isn't the first Step2 item I've purchased but I love the quality they have compared to some of the other options out there. This product came in a large box and I was able to assemble the whole thing by myself in about 30 minutes. You will need a screwdriver to drive in the "permanent" screws so that things like the roof and walls don't come apart easily. It's sat outside so far all summer and hasn't shown any signs of wear and tear, my toddler loves it and it's the perfect size for a larger 2 year old.

Generally great; misaligned holes, though
Very roomy and my exceptionally large 3-year old (easily as tall as 4 year olds, if not bigger) loves it. Looks forward to going in it every day. Plenty of room for him in coming years, too. Not sure why others find it too small. But, like others have mentioned (I think), the pre-made assembly holes are off in a multiple locations. Biggest mistake was with the roofing support beam. I had to make new holes because the provided one did not even pierce the sides of the cottage—when “screwed in place,” you could just lift the beam up and there was the screw, not touching the cottage side in the slightest. Other pre-made holes also could have been aligned better, but they are passable. However, we do have reservations about moving it because of that. I doubt my kid could disassemble it or bump something out of place, but I do wonder if one too many moves around the yard will pop an already poorly placed screw out. Other than misaligned holes, the product is good. Instructions are also well done for this day and age. I’m not a carpenter and I found assembling it easy, even with having to create new holes. That was easily done with a small diameter nail and hammer.

The Step2 Storybook Cottage is very durable and cute.
I put the Step2 Storybook Cottage in a shady section of my yard. It looks like a magical cottage in the forest. I hired a handyman to put it together. He told me that the instructions were easy to follow. I used Amazon points to pay for the cottage. I called Step2 to find out if I could buy green shutters for the window on the other side. The answer is no. I bought the Step2 Play & Shade Pool to put next to it because it gets hot in Texas. It's good quality too but the umbrella doesn't stay up when I put it in the groove. Correction: there is a piece to add to keep the umbrella in the groove. I hadn't set up all of the pieces yet. Overall, the Storybook Cottage is a good purchase.

Fun Toddler House
Easy to assemble (but we did put one wall on backwards and decided to embrace that as a design choice by adding silk flowers to the built-in "shelves" that were now on the outside). A power screwdriver is helpful. Two year old loves the house. The working doorbell is pushed often. The cellphone is a hit. (Both require batteries) The fireplace inside is a great picture backdrop. We selected this house based on the height and the "extras" included. The height accommodates adults and older children. The drop down table is used a lot. We added a chair and cooking implements.

So happy I chose to spend the extra money!
Super sturdy, great quality! My kiddos love it! It is so big! It fits my 3 and 7 year old great and My 9 year old even enjoys it. The tallest point in the house is a little over 4 1/2 feet! It is so roomy. It just most cutest darn little cottage as well with a fireplace, table, sink and stove and even a little mantle above the fireplace where they can put things and a few little recesses shelves where they can put things. I have 3 kids in there eating their food around the “table” all the time. It is one of the best things I have gotten for my kids and it will last I’m sure through all my grandkids as well. Love it!

Their favorite toy
The kids love it! My only regret is that I bought it during the Winter months so they can't really play with it most days. But come Spring, it's going to be awesome! I do wish it came with the chair shown in the pictures.I'm not sure why people are saying it's flimsy. It's pretty solid, like all the Step 2 things I have bought. It's the only reason I would dare pay that much for a toy. It was simple to put together, although I would suggest having someone else help at least hold things steady. I did it alone and it took an hour or so.

Playhouse shelving.
Building went together, fairly easy. Door works well. Shelves weren’t deep enough to put play dishes or pots and pan on. We’ll have to buy baskets to keep the dishes in and the food. She is enjoying it tho.
