Good games with a few drawbacks
Good standard games like Checkers, Backgammon, Parcheesi, Goh, but with strange game names (copyright issues?). Works with Windows Vista. One big drawback: you can't adjust sound volume once you start the program, so be sure to set your PC volume before starting up. Also, Parcheesi can get frustrating because you have to click many times to try to get the pieces to move, and sometimes they just won't move to where you put them, even following game rules. Yahtzee and Dominoes are fun with a virtual opponent that "talks." Wish the easy levels were easier to play. What would be the harm in writing games that people can win? Society makes it hard enough to feel good. I prefer games that don't make me feel like I'm losing most of the time. I do like being able to create a player icon. It would be better if the player icons could be programmed to say things you'd like them to say. Possibly integrate with a .pdf file? All in all, my second favorite after Play 101.

Seems OK for the price
I can't speak for the issues reported in Vista and 7, but I'm running it on XP and it installed and runs fine. It seems a little quirky but works as intended for me. I know it's possible to get a chess board and play chess with a friend, but I was looking for a chess game that could be played human vs. computer or human vs. human. I ordered Fritz 10, Majestic Chess, and this game. This is the only one of the three that allowed games in human vs. human. In fact, this will let you play most of the games on it in Human vs. Computer or Human vs. Human. I like that because my kids are bad about losing pieces to games, there is nothing to pick up when you are done, and there is rule enforcement. The bad stuff: It has an odd thing that allows you to earn in game money and unlock other features of the game. My first thought was, "hey, I paid for it already, all the features should be available." The computer can just smoke you, even on easy settings, too. If you aren't a checkers grandmaster, forget winning a game against the computer on its version of checkers. The good stuff: Chess was on par with the dedicated chess games that I ordered...plus you get all the other games. You can set the board in 2d or 3d, which is nice, because I like 2d better than the 3d. I like chess, but I guess I'm just not good enough, because even the easy settings on here can be pretty brutal. And best of all, the price is nice on it.

Old school board games.
If you like the classics in gamming, then this is not a bad deal. You get a lot of games packed into 1. This was a good choice for my laptop which I had NO games on, and I wanted to pass time while traveling. The only bad part was the lack of multi-player support. As anyone knows 1/2 the fun of the game is the playing against someone else. The multi-player part aside the games were fun and easy to play, they also have have help for new players, so if you are new to a game, or not played in a long time there is no need to worry.

Not bad but could be better?
I am playing this game on a WIN 7 64 Bit laptop. My machine would not read the disk but it did read and load properly on a Win XP laptop. To get it onto the WIN 7 64Bit, I copied the disk to a Flash drive off my XP and installed it to the Win 7 machine from there. The games pay pretty well on the WIN 7 but I have run into a few strange things, like invisible dice and positioning pieces on Pachisi.Otherwise it works ok.

Installed completely for me - whereas the 2012 version didn't
Having very erratic experience with Hoyle games in the past (but there's so little competition) I didn't have a lot of hope for this title on my new Win7 64 bit HP laptop.I'm happy to say that it appears to have installed OK. My wife is the game player so I might add more later after she's poked around in the title. But I thought I'd give some hope to those that want to give it a try on Win7(64).

Engaging variety of games - graphics issues
I own a prior version of this program but bought this updated game because it has Sudoku. While the basic Hoyle games work just fine with my dual monitor set up the Sudoku does not work well in windowed mode. This is probably because I am running a dual monitor system (my husband who also has dual monitors has the same problem).

Just what I wanted!
My dad (85, blind in one eye) loves to play the Mah Jong on this game.

Poor Quality
I purchased this program to for a little diversion. The games provide only a slight challenge even when set on the most advanced settings. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY - if it were free, you might have a deal, but other than that, it is really poor. The programming and logic are set for elementary school students - maybe
