Works fine!
Works just fine

Bolted up nicely- SUV runs once again!
Square base slightly wider than old coil. Had to "gap" the mounting bracket about 1mm to allow proper fit. Connections were dead on.

1997 Silverado 5.7L Vortec
Old one was kind of weak. Felt the difference with this part compared to the 20 year old GM one. Worked well Iโd say.

Not bad enough to really notice it unless you were really ...
My 1998 GMC 1500 5.7 liter had a little bit of an engine twitch. Not bad enough to really notice it unless you were really really trying to notice it. Once I replaced the ignition coil she idles smoother then before. Now it could all just be in my mind that it idles smoother than it did before but either way it was preventive maintenance. I still have the original coil that came on the truck. One way to know that is you will still have the rivets that hold the coil to the ignition control module. I did have to drill mine out which was really easy as long as you have a sharp drill bit and then they provide the nut and bolt. I would suggest putting some blue Loctite on the bolts just to keep them from coming loose in the future.
