Wonderful teak dining set
Wonderful teak dining set. Has held up for 2 summers so far & is left outside all winter in a sheltered, but harsh marine climate (barrier island, north eastern US). I considered many more expensive sets but finally settled on this one. Surprising well-constructed with tongue & groove joints, with very slight variations in each individual chair (some corners are angled & some are square - very minor, no one has noticed but me). The extension works well. The company was extremely helpful when a chair arrived damaged & then another broke shortly after purchasing it. I took pictures of the problems & they sent replacement chairs. I am very happy with this purchase.

What a poor product!!
A huge disappointment. We have had this "Luxurious Grade-A Teak Dining Set" for slightly over a year and as of today four chairs have cracked and two more show signs of splitting. This isn't a minor cosmetic crack. This is arms of chairs simply falling off, slats snapping, and legs cracking. And it all happened within the first year which included 6 months of winter when they were kept in a heated garage. One chair arm simply came off when it was sat in for the first time. The final insult is that while they will happily, sort of, replace the chairs within the first year, you get the privilege of paying for shipping...unless you can stop by their warehouse in Southern California. So for another couple hundred of dollars, or more, you get to have "brand new chairs" -- until they break...like one did today.

Just not enough room, and is this your idea of stacking chair?

However, with the table fully expanded, the person sitting at the end doesn't have enough table above their lap. Because of the spacing of the legs of the table, the middle three chairs are very close for comfort. But it wasn't until just last week, not even three years old, a chair collapsed. Based on the fact that this table is out of stock, I don't imagine I will get any remedy.

No better table set for the price
I bought this set in spring 2011. It is now winter 2014. I applied 6 coats of teak oil to the table and chairs when they first arrived, and then de-grayed and re-coated with teak oil (one coat) the summer of 2014. They are covered, in winter, with a table cover. I put small plastic 'furniture' buttons on the bottom of all the legs to keep the wood from contacting the patio surface directly (reducing the chance of rot). The table has been used for multiple family dinners, lab parties with graduate students, neighborhood end of summer parties, barbecues with my son's friends and multiple dinners with friends. The table and chairs have held up well and still look like they have multiple years of good service left.Good. Well worth the price. Well made, for the price point. What this means: This is a $2,500 table set, when I bought it now inflation and demand have increased the price. this is not a table set at 5 to 10X the price. If you are looking for perfect finishes and thick teak, you need to pay a lot more money. The table is about an inch thick, not 2 inches thick. This also means you don't need a small army to move the table or open up the table to use the extensions. The table does the job for which it was purchased. It is a great set and for the price point, an exemplary set. At this price, the table has held up extremely well and still looks great. The bad: Nothing really. Routine maintenance required, but after the first teak application, the rest has been easy. A couple of passes with light sand paper and reapplying a coat of teak oil during the summer of year 3 has been the extent of the maintenance. I de-grayed the table only for aesthetics.Issues: When the set first arrived, there was some shipping damage. The damaged chairs were replaced quickly--the replacement chairs were on my patio in a couple of days. There was a large 'splinter' on a table edge that was quickly repaired with some Gorilla glue. There have been no issues since then.I haven't seen a better table at this price point--or several $1000 higher. It makes a great place to have dinners, sort your fishing gear, climbing hardware, camping gear, or any other outdoor task. The table is sturdy, holds up well, and, after three years, the only apparent wear or aging is the graying of the wood---which is exactly as you should expect.(I hate reviews that say, "I just got it out of the box and it looks great." Thus, I waited a few seasons to post this review.)
