It Hums, But it’s Worth It!
Well she’s a hummer alright, but it’s not as annoying as I expected, especially when weighed against what a tiny little powerhouse it is! I have the 1000gph and it’s HALF the size of the big Tetra Whisper with easily 5X the power. (One pump to rule them all! ✊😜) I will be putting a hose and a breather filter on the intake, as one review claims it helps with sound-dampening. I’ll also put it in a box covered with closed-cell foam padding. I can run one of the air lines into the box, making it self-cooled. Honestly though, I’m in no hurry. It’s really not all that loud. (It’s in a tank stand/cabinet with closed doors, which helps.)READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. It has an intake filter you must clean regularly. I bet some bad reviews are from people who didn’t bother to read that. (Adding a breather filter should mean less cleaning maintenance 🤞)

A worthwhile purchase.
I bought it for hobby use, not for a fish tank. I attached a longer, single piece of poly tubing to the pump and use it on my band saw for blowing saw dust off of my parts during cutting. It works great. The pump does not put out high pressure. It's not build for that. It does produce continuous, uninterrupted flow. The pump has an serviceable air filter to prevent debris from entering the pump, rubber feet to dissipate vibration and fins on the frame to keep the pump cool.

Excellent aquarium air pump
First, understand I did not buy this to aerate an aquarium but I am bubbling air through water. OK. I'm using this pump to pass air through a Birkeland - Eyde reactor. So the air flow goes from the pump into a 2 gallon glass jar, then through a second hose out to a 1 liter jar to bubble through water. I bought the 18 watt model. Oddly, it pushes more air than needed through an open tube and I actually had to restrict the air flow down by 50%. But once I attach a ceramic air diffuser, it completely stops working. It will push air down to the diffuser, where it just stops. I have no explanation for this but I am using it a little differently than it is designed for. It's very well made, reasonably quiet - remember it is commercial grade like for use in a restaurant or something which is why I bought it. For that function - aerating a lobster tank, large fish tank, something like that, this is a very good pump. Very small and easily concealable. Despite its inability to push air through a diffuser in my specific application I give this pump 5 stars and would buy it again.

Worked much better than other, higher cost air pumps, but failed after less than 1 year
While I was very impressed with the air flow of this pump, and the noise was greater than expected. Since it is placed in a protected location outdoors, it is not causing noise issues inside our home.I discovered that the much greater noise and lack of airflow in the past month was due to racoons having chewed into 3 of the 6 air stone lines in our pond, plus one of the air stones had been pull off its tubing. I only had two air stones operating, but had a major loss of air pressure right at the pump and in the pond. After tension wrapping the chew holes (I will replace the tubing soon) and cutting the damaged main tubing at the pump end, pressure resumed to normal. The noise level of the pump is higher than when it was first installed, but it is outdoors, so it is not that much of an issue. Our previous air pump now costs 4-5 times as much, is very quiet, but the air flow is about 1/10, so it is not of much value to us. We are sticking with this manufacturer, especially since they responded within one day to my concerns about the airflow issue, BEFORE I discovered that the problem was not the pump, but racoons thinking plastic tubing is food.Very good response time and excellent customer support by the company. Emails are only available via the address printed in material which comes with the order.

Pump
We used this pump on a 55 gallon fishtail for the bubbles it works perfect but I do suggest to screw it down to something or it makes alot of noise but overall it's a great buy for the price

Quirky but super powerful and worth the price!
I had to take mine apart as there was a metal bb that was inside the unit that was making a horrible grinding and rattling noise when turned on.It's horribly loud when its cold, but becomes very quiet when it warms up to about 120-140f.For $30 this thing is insanely power and definitely worth the money!

Good air psi for a small unit
Bought this for my CNC Router to blow the chips off while running the CNC. Works great. Is a little louder than a traditional aquarium pump. I can't really hear it when my CNC is running. So far its working great!

Size & durability
Bought for our 50 gallon freshwater aquarium works, perfect, commercial grade. I had bought a few before had to return, found this one and am really pleased with how well it works
