The Kinfolk Garden: How to Live with Nature

Disappointing
Disappointingly, this isn’t a book about gardens or nature. It’s a book about people with their gardens very much taking a back seat (if they have gardens - weirdly quite a lot of the the people don’t even seem to tick that box). A lot of the photos are just photos of the ‘gardeners’ themselves posing and not their spaces. I had high hopes for this book but it seems like whoever curated it was far more obsessed with Instagram friendly photos and broad platitudes than providing gardening inspiration.

Absolutely useless
What they tout as a “guide to living with nature” is actually a large, thick book of photos of people’s “living with nature” such houseplants, a rock in a living room and a room painted to offset the colour of an olive tree growing by a window. The very little “gardening advice” they give is wrong. As a master gardener, I know that plastic pots are NOT the best pots for houseplants as it doesn’t aerate the roots like terracotta does and not all plants can be sustained in containers of water like they state. If you want a thick picture book to place on your coffee table to take photos for your Instagram account then this is the one. That’s all it is good for.

Precioso
Es una maravilla relajarse y recorrer las páginas de este libro. Destila el buen gusto y la estética de la revista. Muestra jardines de distintos países, entrevistas a artistas que trabajan con plantas y flores y también algunos consejos de jardinería. Muy recomendable.
