Nutralin - Exclusively for Supplemental Feeding of Diabetic Dogs' (Variety, Chewable)

Use this product as a treat for insulin shots. All my dogs love it. The only drawback is the cost and they don’t offer any sales or coupons.

I’ve given my diabetic dog this supplement since the winter and have seen no change in his glucoses. We’ve gone up on his insulin multiple times too.I did some research into the active ingredients glycerin and coconut oil. I found a note saying glycerin may actually be unsuitable for diabetic dogs and suggests avoiding the ingredient (there was mention of a small study supporting this statement but unfortunately I cannot find the study.) I also found recommendations to stay away from coconut oil, and other oils, as they’re fats that may increase glucose.My dog likes the treats, thinks they’re tasty, but Nutralin shows no evidence that their supplement works, AND it’s expensive. I will be discontinuing the supplement unless they can show evidence of how it works.

i read a magazine story about how these treats were invented for dogs with diabetes. They sounded so promising. I bought a package for my daschshund/terrier mix, the cutest little boy in the universe, who, unfortunately, is diabetic. They came right away, and i eagerly tried to give him these treats which have all natural ingredients. Guess what! He didn't like them. My other two dogs, a terrier and another terrier mix, were offered them also--not as ordered, but as an occasional single treat. They liked them. So I can't try them for what they were supposed to be for. But I can say that they are delicious to 2 out of 3 dogs.

I ordered this on July 2 and received it in one day! Wow - never expected that. My husband and I had been discussing if it was time to make an appt. at the vet clinic for our 14 year old Heeler to put her down but I felt the time wasn't right. That she wasn't ready to go yet. Right after that I read the article in Guideposts magazine about this product. At the time I ordered it, our Sissie was barely able to go out to the bathroom and walk back in on her own strength. All she did was eat and sleep. Immediately after starting the Dia-Treaties, she had more pep. I purposely didn't tell my husband that I started her on this product, because I wanted an unbiased opinion. In just two days that she was on it, he began commenting on her behavior and was amazed at the increase in her strength and stamina. Even her hair was improved noticeably. She was able to walk around the yard in just a few days time! I was so impressed, I called the company and had a really informative and pleasant conversation with an employee and the next day, the inventor and owner of the company called me. We had a wonderful conversation about the product, the clinicals they have done and how they are working now on a similar product for human consumption. He explained the process they have been through in the last five years in developing Dia-Treaties. They have also developed other products for dogs who have health issues other than diabetes like the Sterling Coat which I am going to order for my 8 year old Flat Retriever to see if we can get rid of his constant itching. I highly recommend this product.

The title says it all - So - if you need this product, order it 1 week ahead of time since they take their time shipping out. When you have 20 treats left or so - get your order in.

My diabetic poodle recently morphed into Cushings disease so sugar levels have been harder to control. I have not yet started treatment for Cushings as side effects can be severe and my dog is 14, but seizures had started becoming too frequent to delay treatment much longer. My vet uses a human glucose monitoring system on my dog and I’m able to scan to get and instant blood sugar readings throughout the day. The effects of better sugar control were almost immediate after using this as the disraction for insulin shots . Seizures from elevated blood sugar levels just before the second of two daily doses of insulin have disappeared. They’d been getting more severe and frequent. And practically predictable based on glucose monitor readings My vet is not sold there is a causal relationship, but I’m a data guy. The seizures always triggered when sugar levels got above a certain number, usually 12 hours after the first of tow daily injections And since using this product, the volatility between high and low sugar readings between insulin doses has tightened up enough now and the seizures stopped. The meter hardly ever reads “Hi” any more and says within a range that’s far narrower.

It smelled like wild deer tongue weed so I was surprised at how my little dog loved it. Not sure if it helped or not though.
